With Ravage's disruption of the time stream, events became no longer predictable. For he surely did not see one of his fellow conspirators taking matters into his own hands. However, after pilfering Ravage's body, Runabout failed to realize that Ravage's mind lay still intact. It had copied itself over to Ravage's older cassette form which still resides in the tape player of Runabout's new stolen form. Runabout is about to realize the true meaning the saying "Ghost in the Machine..." I realized that Runabout's head actually is about the same size as Swerve's. This is just my simple character kitbash (now with painted head, and clear red windows).
Thanks, I like to add a little bit of fiction to my creations to give them a little depth (when art is lacking).
Very cool... in all honesty I think you should remove the 'con logo from the chest and move it somewhere else as it takes away from that section IMHO. Otherwise, good job and cool choice of character!
very cool. I love how you changed the chest out with that engine. It makes it a bit more original than a head swap. I assume you're keeping Runabout's gun under the hood in place of ravege's? I want to make one of these myself but I don't want to waste a Ravage. They're rather hard to find around here and I'm not giving up the only one I have.
wow man thats a great custom job on the head and the chest plate, how did you get the head to look that good man?
That's awesome! That's probably about as good an update as that character will ever receive, I'm betting.
Just slowly take small amounts of paint, and paint around the edges of the face, and red highlights. It's tempting to dob paint on there, but unless its a large area that's going to be one color (like the back of the head), it's best to use multiple coats of short strokes, and sparing paint for details. I had to trim around the edges of the engine to get it to fit properly. I then trimmed down the flap on Ravages mock roof, and slid what was left into the Cybertron key port. I angled the roof pannel back a little bit to provide tightness, and secure the engine.
Thanks for the constructive crit. I dunno. I looked at it without the con logo, and it just looks too plane. I thought about painting the engine silver, but that would have detracted from the rest of the piece.
Unfortunately, the gun doesn't fit under the hood. So, we could say plotwise that Runabout liked his original gun, and wanted to keep it with this new body. So, he mounted it on the rear hatch in car mode. Obviously, he couldn't fire forward without hitting his windshield. So, it would be more of a tail gun. Also, the gun could double as a rocket-like engine when facing forward (giving him a boost in speed).
When I showed my Ravage to Runabout headswap, I had alot of people suggest painting the head. You did a good job, but it looks like he has robotic hair. I'm glad I left him alone.
