Normally I'd apologize for opening this thread, but I suppose this is what these boards are meant for. I probably would have guessed one of Saturn's moons too if I'd noticed a ringed planet in the background, but alas I did not. Must have been caught up in the dialogue at that part. And while Saturn itself would be a decent little excursion from earth, I'm tempted to believe its some planet with a history of Cybertronian activity on it, as the Fallen is strapped to a chair on it, apparently until the death of the 'last prime'. And how did the Fallen get there anyway? In the comic series that precedes it, the Fallen is trapped in a big, floating rock and whispers in Megatron's ear ala the Blair Witch, but you never see him. Suddenly he's tied down like a guy who brought the wrong girl home from the bar.

And we all know just how well the prequels and other fiction follow the movie events.

Looks like they may be on Titan, and since it wasn't properly named, let's just assume it was Titan. Works for me.

    It's AU. "Astronomical Unit".

As to the planet/moon Megs lands on, could also be one of the moons of Jupiter. Even though Saturn is closer. Maybe he wanted to take a trip in his new body:drunk

I know there is a big continuity problem with timescale, but it has to be Saturn's Moon. Which means, NASA need to stop fiddling around with the Space Station and spend their billions on getting to Saturn so we can have contact with the Transformers!

    Um, wow.

I don't know where to begin pointing out the errors here with regard to physics.

However I will say that given Megatron's original alt mode was designed for deep-space flight, who's to say he hasn't got some sort of faster-than-light/transwarp/wormhole capability.

To me it didn't seem at all clear where he went OR how the hell he got there so fast. It seemed a bit ridiculous not to show Megatron jumping into light speed or something. It just felt like he nipped round the corner to the local Saturn Quickstop for a pack of smokes, not travelled across the vastness of interstellar space.

Why does it have to be Saturn?

Edit: Actually, I guess you're right. Aren't Jupiter;s rings composed of significantly less material than Saturn's.

According to the Novel (and I'll probably get hit by said novel for this...) Megatron landed on the Nemisis. Not really giving that much of a description aside from the metallic structure and wires, there's not much to go on.

Add that to the picture of space and you could have either Saturn or Jupiter since both planets have rings. (And Jupiter is closer... oh and I just got the Sailor moon intro reference... :confused2 )

I don't think Megatron really flew all the way out to Saturn/Jupiter or whatever. I think it was something a little closer by but Michael Bay wanted the scene to look cool so he put Saturn/Jupiter next to mars. Just my opinion. In Michael Bay's world, anything can happen.

It certainly isn't cybertron. I haven't seen any of the comics pertaining to the live action franchise, doesn't Cybertron from TF1 have those huge metallic spires where pieces shift everywhere?
