    I thought it was about 2012 since the DOTM video game claims to take place 3 years after ROTF but just shortly before the DOTM movie.

    The whole stuff about fossils is just an urban legend the government wants you to believe. Those fossils are made of a rare bone-like structure called Cyberbonian.

    Pretty much any natural disaster you can blame on a Transformer, any major earthquake, hurricanes, etc.
    Of course any alien and UFO conspiracy theory storie can be related to Transformers.
