Makes me appreciate Superman Returns on a whole new level.

While Nicolas Cage as Superman was an idea better left unpursued, the 'result' is a little exaggerated by the fact that they appear to have used the most utterly ridiculous picture of Cage in existence. I don't think it would've been quite that bad.
Also, a lot of that concept art looks much cooler than anything that ended up in Superman Returns...
    Heh, yes

    Needs more Nathan Fillion.

I'd be down with a Bizzaro looking like that though.

And the new S is kinda cool instead of the bland original.

Wow, just wow, looks like Super Tranny! I"m just curious why every director feels they have to "change" or "reimagine" everything, can't we just go with what's worked for the past 70 years? And you're right, makes SR look like a success when compared to what might have been.

Remember also, this is the movie that Jon Peters wanted to insists had a giant spider.

You know, we all have this cliche' image of a "Hollywood bigwig" making these inane statements about a movie. You know, ridiculous things that just sound moronic and don't suit the subject matter at all.

I mean you can see it, can't you? A guy in a bad suit walks around a big table, hands in the air, "I see...a black costume! Maybe dark blue...and shiny! Gotta be shiny. Oh and I want him to fight a giant spider! Yeah...spiders are scary, but cool! Oh. and who is this Kal-El guy the script keeps talking about? Can we lose him, whoever that is?"

Then you laugh and realize it's just a silly image and that no one in charge of that much money could be that out-of-touch.

Then later, you find out that that image is the absolute truth of how many movies are pitched and approved.

That kind of process is how I imagine Tim Burton got attached to the movie in the first place. "Yeah, the Batman films are successful. We need that sort of success for Superman. Let's get the same guy to do it!" Sure, let's ignore Burton's total insuitablity to do anything non-gothic. Combat boots for Superman!

Still, I hear talks on the Aquaman movie are going well.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of childhoods were raped and suddenly silenced.

Wow, that is truly disturbing. When I first saw that picture, I thought "It looks like someone Photoshoped Cage's head on the body of a Superman action figure."

I do like some of the concept art, though.

I got to wonder if Burton looked at this project, "thought they really can't want "ME" to do this"... "oh shit they do, I wonder how stupid and how much money I can get before they let me go."
