Now it might be too soon to talk about the future of the live action franchise, but with the era of Bayformers supposedly coming to a close, there are so many possibilities left to grasp!
I'm not starting this thread because I hate this movieverse or, to the contrary, I love it and its a big reason why I started collecting and getting into the TF mythos. Anyways, I figure I start it up, just to read what you guys want to see in later films.

Either a reboot (hopefully more faithful to the original material and characters) or a sequel trilogy with Galvatron as the leader of the Decepticons. I'll hope for the first option, with a new director.

I'd rather have a sequel trilogy with some new characters

Actually, something I would like to see is a movie following the Wreckers, THAT would be fun!

I don't really think that theres much more that they can do with the films now. Unless some Decepticon commando squad somehow manages to steal the matrix from Prime and revive Megatron, but his damage was to extensive so he's reformatted into Galvatron.

Christopher Nolan would do for Transformers what he did for Batman if he got the director's chair.

No, he wouldn't. I can't think of a worse choice for a Transformers' movie than Nolan.

I honestly don't expect another film in the next 4-6 years if we are lucky, if they have to do a reboot it will require starting everything from scratch, if they somehow manage to continue the bayverse that is going to take a while as well with what would have to be designing a whole new squad of cons. And rights negotiations and such fun things.

Either way, don't expect a new film till 2015ish

My dream plot would have The Vok as smoke beings [like Johann Krauss on Hellboy II] and as the main villains this time around, consuming the minds of all on the galaxy like a virus, this time being lead by Nemesis Prime, Optimus' evil brother, who claims he leadership of the Decepticons alongside his right-hand thug: Trypticon.

Main villains: Nemesis Prime, The Vok.
Mooks: Protoforms and Vok-created beings [made of "smoke"].
    "The Kraken": Trypticon.

New Autobot: Alpha Trion, who came to warn that we're all screwed, and Omega Supreme came with him.

This time, the movie would be set ON SPACE, with massive star battles between TFs [and yes, humans came along].

Definitely a reboot. As much as I have enjoyed Bay's movies, I would like to see another person's take on this franchise. Down the road, if the money permits, a War for Cybertron styled film.

This. It could work out. Id like a structured sequel trilogy with a vary of old and new characters. Potentially a new Prime rising through the ranks and OP looking for a successor. Also Galvatron, but as his own entity, not as a ressurected Megatron.

John Woo is a great action director as well so I would say him

The decepticon are leaderless so they all start fighting over who should lead them, in that fight Decepticons start to search for evergon and keep one upping each other in order to prove to the other decepticons that they are worthy of leading them all. Sutobots continue to fight the decepticons, because that's what they do Baby!

I wouldn't be entirely opposed to a sequel trilogy or a entire reboot so long as we get:

    1) A solid/ consistent plot
Have the writers plan/ write the WHOLE trilogy out before filming, working to make sure the films actually build off of each other and are coherent. No more making shit up as they go.

    2) some G1/ actual cannon homage
not enough to drown in, but enough to give the franchise's roots some love
    3) solid characterization development
human (if needed) 'bot or 'con, give us some characterization, no more static stereotypes
    4) MOAR ROBOTS!

One thing that they could use - somehow, don't ask me how though! - is that if you remember in RotF when hunting for Jetfire, Wheelie mentions there was quite a few 'Seekers' all around the planet. Perhaps they could use one of those to revive the storyline?
