French, and sign language I speak Italian and Polish though not fluently I speak a little Spanish At my college when you are a singing emphasis in the music major you are required to take several different foreign languages, I had to take Italian, German, and Spanish (and French usually but I tested out of it)

Greek [native language] Fluent English [proficient] Above average\basic level French Very basic Italian\Spanish Some Japanese
English is my native language, and I can do pretty well in Spanish now. I can read Portugese and French to a reasonable degree but can't speak them worth a damn.
You should, as a teacher I would never do that. If I find out a student can speak another language I utilize that. For example we are doing a song in Spanish and I ask if anyone can speak Spanish, cool help us translate it word for word so we know each beat, each syllable what it means and what we are saying. It also helps with better pronounciation beacuse even though I may "speak" Spanish it would be nothing compared to a native speaker. Same goes for any other language. I've had students who can speak French and even Swahili. OOOO, teach me how to speak mocking bird!!! Ok shame on you (as someone who is Irish and has a grandmother who speaks it) if it's "Basic Irish" you shuld know better that the Irish language is called Gaelic not "speaking Irish"
I speak english and a little spanish. I have a friend that is trying to teach me french, it isnt going well.
I speak English like everyone in the USA should. (not demeaning folks who speak other languages only encouraging the use and learning of the language in the country in which u inhabit(as my family did when they came here in the early 1900's)) Yes I would actively try to learn another language if I ever decided to move to other countries. If u dumped me off in France I know/would remember enough from highschool to fumble my way thru it
English, Tagalog, I'm pretty good at understanding Ilocano but can't speak it. And I took Japanese in High School, can't really hold a conversation like I used to, but I still understand much of what's said to me. Oh, and Hawaiian Pidgin also.
