Now that Sentinel Prime has been confirmed for DotM and we have seen his toy and identified him as the old-looking bot aboard the Ark on the moon from the December trailer, what kind of character do you think he will be in the movie?

He has been described as the predecessor of Optimus Prime and seems to possess an ancient design. So when he shows up in DotM, will he play an old, wise father/creator figure for Optimus Prime? Will he be a fellow Prime that teams-up with Optimus against the Decepticons? Could he channel some of the 'disagreeable' qualities of his recent Animated manifestation? Or might he be a rival for Optimus' leadership of the Autobots? Or maybe he could be something completely new? What do you think?

I'm going to the Father figure angle to him.

 

I'm gonna have to go with father-figure/mentor/creator. I always liked the father-figure type characters. It somehow forms a bond between certain characters if you get what I mean.

 

Father figure & mentor.

 

I think he will be a cross between the father, wise figure and that kind of old man who is ompletely out of place within those modern times.

I mean, the last time he was "online", The Fallen had vanished, The Matrix of Leadership was safe, The Allspark was well guardaded and Cybertron had peace, the world seemed to be okay for now, and he could die in peace, knowing that everything turned out good after all.

Then, he wakes up: One HELL of a bloody war broke out while he had his nap, the Bot's home plant, Cybertron iself, is dead and forever lifeless, his race is almost extinct, The Matrix of Leadership and the Allspark are forever lost, and why that happened? Because the new kid [Optimus] wanted to save the filfthy humans and because he wasn't there to save Cybertron.

Thus, he will be kind of depressed on the modern days, seeing how things changed since his old times and how deep in the darkness their race is.

And most of all: I think he will be a badass, a man who does not fear to sacrifice his life for the Autobot cause, a true unstopable warrior [A determinator: If he says that he will kill Megatron, HE WILL kill Megatron].

But then again, Maybe I'm wrong...

 

Being that hes Optimus father im def going with a father figure and i truly hope thats how hes depicted in DOTM.

I cant wait to see how BA he is in the movie, def really pumped to finally hear that hes the fire truck.

Father figure & mentor the way he looks he doesn't look like a jerk but its a bay film anything is possible.

 

I guess he'd take on the mentor/father angle. That could actually be pretty hilarious if he were to take a trip down memory lane.

 

I think he and Optimus are going to have some sought of dissagreement at first.

 

I'm more curious as to whether it'll be Megatron or Shockwave who kills him.

I think the mentor figure makes a lot of sense. Sentinel was mentioned when Sam was doing his possessed babbling in class in ROTF so we know he's going to be smart.

 

A mentor/fatherly figure. If Sentinel Prime is Optimus Prime's ancestor/daddy, then I could see a few bonding moments between the two Primes.

 

He's going to be a badass. Can't wait to see some Sentinal ownage. Plus he's got a sweet mustache.
