Back in my first year or so of flea marketing, a dealer had a boxed late 70's Shogun Warriors 24" Mazinga toy, in the box. I had always wanted one, ever since I was a kid.
    Cost me $5.

MISB Takara Bookstyle Reissue Targetmaster Hot Rod, from a member of this board. I won't tell you how much I paid, but you'd be jealous.

Was the one toy I had always always always wanted as a kid and NEVER got (well, the original was, but then I saw the TARGETMASTER version! which became the new goal)... I was so stoked when he arrived. :D

BT Yellow Tracks was my first Japanese import and comes in a VERY close second. I LOVED alts, and I'm a big die-cast fan. Not to mention, the toy did NOT disappoint. Still my #2 favorite alt/BT mold, too.

I've never been able to convince myself to pick up a Alt version of any of the Corvette boys.

    Lucky draw?

I know I've heard the term before, but again I am clueless as to its meaning.

    Clarification plx?

Overall: would probably be a computer purchase

TF-related: there's lots of goodies, but probably would be a deluxe. The vast majority of my favorite toys are deluxes, and their relative inexpensive nature makes them good purchases in my eyes.

TF related? I know about 4 years back or so, I go the Japanese Powermaster Prime (well, God Ginrai I think) for about $34 after shipping MISB. Being my favorite toy, it was great to get the full japanese one for a lower price then I later found the US commemorative one (but I bought that to).

In japan they have contests with magazines and other contests for a promotional figure that is very limited in numbers

    Ah, that's pretty cool.

Why don't we get things like that here in the good ol' US and A?

20th Prime and Nemesis Prime both loose at $40 each from a local collector.

Other than that it would be $5 Optimus cab at an Antique Mall. Missing one fist :(

    or...

Any of my larger G1 figures like Metroplex or Ultra Magnus :)

I have a different take on that. With the reaction to anything that's even somewhat limited in the US Transformers market, someone in Hasbro probably realizes there'd be some sort of fan-revolt were they to make an awesome Lucky Draw and only produce fifty or less of them. The way people pitched a fit over the Classics BotCon stuff this year, I'm not surprised we don't see Lucky Draws in the US.

Good + limited = whining. It's a proven fact in the US.

I disagee...lucky draws are (to my understanding) silver or gold plated vesions of existing poduction figures. Not characters that aren't mass produced. There is a huge differnce. And I don't think people would have been nearly as outraged about the Botcon set this year had it not been so ridiculously over priced (IMO). While lucky draws (at retail) cost no more than their standard counter part. Apples and oranges.
