first things first my name is niran...24 years old fell in love with tf since watching the 2007 movies by that time i have realize that i gave away my first ever transformers Predacon Autoroller got for my bday...way back...any how since then i being wanting to have a collection.

But im the only person i know that is a collector in this country where i live(srilanka).and toys are way expensive i got paid only Rs.12000, that is abt 100$ per month and a figure cost over about Rs.8000 here so i gave up being a collector for some time back then aft watching ROTF i was in love with the supreme class devastator toy by that time i have go my credit card and went in search for it on ebay well almost cost 200$ with shipping....

i remember i stared at that toys in local toys shop almost every day of the week the cost is RS.20000 in here that is 200$ well i was looking in and found a tf fan who has a blog named arthur which sells his spare figures and i notice the he has a devastator for sale for 80$ and he was kind enuf to send me the devstator for 100$ with shipping, which is a fortune. i still thnkful to him...

any way that is how i got my first official figures...after that i got a rotf voyager starscream(mint in box) trade in for 5 metal cds of a person who has a yard sale...last year i got dotm mechtech ironhide and human alliance backfire from my gf...and i got 4 mac tf toys well that is it for my collection so far i just want to share...no one will give a damm but i just want to share...

    -till all are one-

Cool story. Some of us take for granted that collecting can be expensive for some so we shouldnt take the fact we can afford a hobby for granted.

Ps how u say the enemys scrotum in sri lankan?!!

You probably don't spend much time on Internet boards like most here. Everyone here can tell except probably you. That's a good thing.

I seriously hope you're just trolling.

What it is to be a collector well its simple. You think about figures all the time and when you don't have nothing new you get fustrated. Then when you get the new figures you look to see anything else is out their that you forgot about and didn't get at the time. Plus what it is to collect you hide your collection from EVERYONE including your parents and only tell people that you trust and sometimes feel embarrassed by what you do to other people when they find out what you do for a hobby. This is how I see collecting these days for me.

Yep. What'd there be to gain by hiding the fact that I collect transformers? Like, I can understand not going outa my way to bring it up at every turn, but that's got more to do with not being annoying.

Dude, what are you collecting? Scat porn?

There's no need to feel embarrassed about collecting toys.

You know what? I was asked out (on a date *insert schoolgirl giggle*) a month or so ago with someone I met at a festival called the "Fringe", which is a festival that celebrates lots of different things and it's biggest drawcard is "the Garden of unearthly delights"....Well, as I was saying, a guy asked for my number at said festival and we ended up going out.

The point of my long-winded comment is that despite meeting the guy in "the garden of unearthly delights", I didn't discuss my interest/hobby, apart from dipping my toes in the water with a *hesitant*.....so did you like Michael Bay's "Transformers"? In an effort to feel shit out and whether he would be interested in MY interest. He said he thought they were ok.....and then started talking about some other movie. I didn't bring TF's up again.......

Turns out we didn't have much in common and now we occasionally text each other, but both of us know it's not going anyplace. I get how it can be hard to discuss your hobby with others, and it's not something I advertise. Obviously anyone I am serious with would find out eventually, but, unlike my other hobbies which I will talk about quite avidly, I keep my Transformers in the closet (literally and figuratively) until that time when the relationship turns serious. I don't know why I do this....and it's sad that I do.....
