who needs light piping when there's leds!  

 

I like it but the piping requires most of the back of the head to work properly. Also, dark colored piping doesn't usually show up as well. When done right, though, it's pretty sweet.

 

I'm really liking the painted eyes on the Combiner Wars Deluxe first wave.

Leave the light piping for voyagers.

 

I'm a fan of light piping. Two of the best ever are Universe Cyclonus and Hound. I LOVE Hound's deep blue.

I agree with others that this wouldn't work on Masterpiece figures but the shiny chrome-like paint on the eyes of MP-01, MP-08 and MP-13 is the best. I wish that was a standard on all of them.

 

I think deluxe Thunderwing is the champion light piper in my collection. I remember once I looked at him on the shelf when in the room with the lights actually out and his eyes were still glowing orange. Frickin' awesome so it was.

 

i'd much rather have light pipping then a battery operated gimmick.

 

I think it needs to go, I'm tired of dead eyes on my TF, I just got the Leaderclass Megs and unless he is next to the sun his eyes are empty looking.

I fully 100% back light piping in all of my TF's. It's a good test to see that my lights are working.

 

Love a good light pipe. Having it is preferred.

I love light piping but some of them have it but the eyes are painted lols, Just like the Evolution Classics optimus prime.

 

I can do without it.

 

I do not care. I do not care if the piping is bad and the eyes are dead. I do not care if I need to hold a flashlight behind the head to get them to work. If I don't like it I can just unscrew the head and paint the eyes it shouldn't be hard. I'll just use cheap acrylic paint its not like anything can get into the eye sockets and rub the paint off.

 

Really makes no difference to me but I do wish that the eye plastic uses is a lighter shade of blue - if it was possible.

 

Imagine if the Combiner Wars figures all had light piping! That would up the feeling in quality quite a bit I think.

 

Some of my figures, I paint the light piped eyes. I don't always have a light source behind my figs so the eyes are usually too dark. I'll usually put a layer of chrome-silver or white with a nice transparent red or blue or whatever color the eyes need to be over the base coat. My opinion is they look way better with the paint.

 

It's cool when it's there, but I won't be upset if it's not.
