What i mean from 1984-1990 what year had your favorite transformers. If i could collect them i would get all the transformers from 84-87. I dont like 88-90 they were not that good. The only ones that were good from that lne would be the cassetes squawk talk and beastbox and the seacons gift set. What would be your favorite years from the g1 line.

1984, by 1985 some of the 'disguises' were already less realistic.

I like your pick, Targetmasters Headmasters, Powermaster(myfav), and the Seacons, after that the only thing cool were, Micromasters and some of those sucked, and of course Monstuctor.

    1984

Though I was always fond of the Pretenders and Actionmasters.

1985, as it was the year Jetfire came out and Jetfire is pretty much the only G1 Transformer that still holds up today. The Shockwave toy was also first released in '85 (although he'd been appearing in the show and comics since '84) and he's also pretty good, once you get past the parts-forming.

I like pretty much anything outside of Pretenders and Action Masters. I own mainly a handful of '84-'86 stuff from flea markets and the like that my parents got me when I was little, but my current interests are moving towards later stuff like Headmasters, Powermasters, and random stuff like Punch/Counterpunch and the Clones.

I'm surprised by all the *master love. I'd love to see the concept revisited in a future line. Maybe with alternate "lift up" heads in case a kid loses the Headmaster unit...
