I have extremely low expectations of Boulder Media Studios as it pertains to Transformers.

Boulder is the studio that made such pure and utter shit as "Wonder Over Yonder", "Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends", and "The Amazing World of Gumball".

Gosh, yes, we can't let people who worked on those multi-award-winning cartoons anywhere near Transformers!

Just because they've made content you don't personally like (that A LOT of other people do like--you're in the minority there) doesn't mean that's all they're capable of making. For one thing, they only produced those shows, they didn't create them. Wander and Foster's were created by Craig McCracken, and Wander wasn't even animated (and very well, might I add) by Boulder Media until the second season. If you don't like those shows, blame their actual creators, not the animation studio.

I never seen Gumball or WOY, but I can say that Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends wore on me as I grew up. (It's veeeery annoying to watch now.)

I have many other unpopular opinions too, but I don't think it's worth getting mocked over.

Anyways, I think it would be cool if Hasbro is all set and ready to start an animated continuity with future Transformers shows and Micronauts. Whether they'll incorporate Prime/RiD or any Aligned stuff into it is another story.

I feel like it's going to be yet another entry in the "Aligned" continuity, but I personally would prefer a show set in a brand new continuity. Prime was great, Rescue Bots is enjoyable, and RID, while far from perfect, at least has its moments, but I think it's time to move on to something else. It's nice to see that Rescue Bots is getting a continuation, but let the other show be its own thing.

To be honest, I really don't want another nuRiD or even a G1-inspired series (I'd rather they leave the original series be). Plus, does it have to be simplistic Flash animation like Rescue Bots (don't have anything against it)? I have a strange feeling this is either going to be the new Teen Titans Go! or something much worse.

If Rescue Bots is continuing, the next series will be in the aligned continuity. RB needs something to coincide with.

The artwork there WAS just placeholder art, since Boulder hadn't really begun the show when that came out.

From what has been leaking out of Boulder, the show is a totally different continuity from P/RID. I think Rescue Bots Academy might be a new continuity as well, since none of the voice actors are apparently coming back.

There have been rumors floating around that the new show is a full reboot of G1. Ark. Volcano. Teletraan One. Etc. Not just a bunch of new characters using the old names to maintain the copyright. (I.E. More like the IDW - ations books than say, the movieverse or the Unicorn Trilogy.)

In that case I hope they do not overdo it with the reboot. The last thing I would want is the rehash of the old G1 cartoon. A totally new storyline with old characters that can surprise us would be dope, fanservice not that much.

Also a little bummed down by that Rescue Bot info. Hope the new show will deliver something similar.

I think fanservice would be just fine,if it's done with some wit. Like when Batman: Brave and the Bold had a lot of nods to its spiritual ancestor, Batman '66. Right down to the Shakespeare bust in Wayne Manor opening up the entrance to the Batcave.

Where have you heard that? All I've ever seen is Geewunners going on and on about how that's what they think needs to happen.

    I did like TBATB :)

When I used fanservice I meant intentionally reusing the things people liked in the past even when they don't work well with the story just for the sake of appeasing said audience. What I would want to avoid is G1 2.0 that is just G1 in new package.

Animated had plenty of fanservice that was a nod to older audience, but didn't influence the general story.
