So I bought a figure from a board member and he shipped it out on 4/11. It was suppose to arrive the 18th based on there expected delivery day, but now its 3 days later and I still have not received anything.

I called USPS do find out whats going on and they opened a case for me. Still haven't heard back from them, and in the meantime I am trying to figure what the heck happened. Here's the tracking info:

Based on the tracking info, it looks like the package is going back to the prevous sort facilites it originally came from. I'm in CA, so it's strange that it left the state I'm in :lol  Has this ever happened to anyone else? I am just curious if the package is going to be sent back to the seller, so i can let him know that it is being returned. Any advise or feedback is appreciated! thanks.

Gotta love good ole USPS! It's no wonder they, financially, are in dire straights.

Anyhow, to answer your question, "yes". Yes this sort of circuitous method of travel has plagued some of my parcels as well.

The latest example is seen below...bottom to top.

This happened to me once as well. Late last year, I had bought some Alternator junkers from a board member and the tracking info seemed to dead end in a sort facility during transit. It eventually made its way back to the seller, but the same thing ended up happening after he shipped it out a second time. After a back and forth with the seller, and with the USPS giving him the run-around, he eventually refunded me.

I had an item that I sold that was supposed to go from Indiana to Maryland (I think, it was that direction), but it decided to take a detour to Alaska first.

It's always fun to check the tracking info on USPS stuff. Most of the time things go smoothly, but every now and then, you get a gem. I sent a package to a board member in Buffalo, NY. It made it there a couple of days late, and when I checked the tracking to see why, it apparently took a 4,000 mile detour through Oakland, CA before arriving in Buffalo. Everything worked out just fine, so it was a good laugh.

This is why I prefer UPS. Sure, they make mistakes sometimes as well...but it is rare. I've been victim of the "Sent many miles away to another State no where NEAR me" situation too, but now I make sure that I order from online stores that have UPS as an option. It's even worse when you talk to someone at the USPS, since chances are YOU have more knowledge about the package than they do. -_-

i have had shit punted two states over east from me (i am in AZ) and then have to back track for no apparent reason...i think alot of the times the sorters in the mail center throw it in the wrong out going bin and it gets zipped to the wrong center by mistake and then has to be re-routed....

I was expecting a package last Christmas. Shipped on time. It traveled from California to New Hampshire then finally to Washington state. A week late but the package arrived fine.

BigPete here on the boards bought a package from someone. He lives in Sweden.

First time USPS delivered it to an address in Venezuela.

    For reference:

They did that twice before getting it right. Address was correct on the package too. Go figure.

This is one of the reasons I opt for Priority Mail or better. First Class and Parcel Post can be constantly rerouted. I've had Parcel Post go through like 10 different distribution centers, one assbackwards and then end up on my door step. Which is why it took THREE weeks for the item to get to me.

Can we just please shut down the Bell Gardens Sort Facility? It's ridiculous that such a horribly rated facility is still in business...

A few years ago, I sold a lot of my Binaltech figures to someone in Canada.

The package was delivered to someone in Austria (the country south of Germany) before finally arriving in Canada a month late.

Always happens to me lol. All I can do is helplessly watch my package being thrown back and forth thru different facilities. It will only be days later when it's finally dispatched to me.

On a side note, all of my USPS tracking number says 'Not Found'. Anyone has any idea?

I never get my packages on the day I'm supposed to. The postal carriers routinely input 'Delivered' on the tracking status so they don't get dinged but the package itself doesn't actually show up till a day or two later. Happened again today. I used to worry but now I'm just used to it.

I'm going through this right now, and I've had it occur several times before. I bought some stuff shipping out of Georgia. I'm in Virginia. Instead of heading north, it went south, and now it's in Florida. Went as far south as Miami. The USPS does this crap all of the time. I know it will resolve itself. It almost always does, but it's still a joke.
