We've all had that moment... there is a figure we desperately want (we missed it the first time around, the one we had broke and need a replacement, it was never released in your country) and you then find it at last...

...only it is marked up or shipping is super high.

But you still bite the bullet and get it, even if you know you are being ripped off.

Here is where we can share how much we were willing to blow to get that ONE FIGURE we needed.

For me, mine is very minor. The most I've paid is double retail to get DOTM Wheeljack (moive colors/head) and Soundwave. Regretted Soundwave until recently, when I repainted his shiny head and detailed him up, and love Wheeljack and have no problem that I paid almost 30 bucks for him.

Takara MP Sideswipe and Red Alert, $100 each. Other than that, most of the time I usually wait for sales before buying figure I want.

Hasbro MP-10 on eBay last November, $250 + $20 shipping. No regrets beyond not finding him during that short 43 minutes he was available at TRU for the regular retail price.

Probably a tie between FOC Soundwave and TRU MP Grimlock. Paid 100 right before the price went up to 80. As for FOC Soundwave, I paid about 40 for him.

My one and only time- $45 for BH Shockwave a few weeks before it was released. Sure, I could have gotten it about a thousand times after it was released for as low as $10, but at the time, it was worth it to me. Still is, actually.

Classics Cliffjumper for $36.99 from BBTS. Stupid dark collecting times. Literal walls of him at TRU for $10, nope stupid brain said I wasn't into TF's at the time. I'm not that bothered by it. Slap Universe 2.0 Treadbolt's gun in his hand and he's a really fun little figure.

Think that's the only time, usually I just buy at retail price or wait for a coupon/sale. Although United Jazz is tempting me so.

TRU MP OP for $320 including shipping. After that, fell for the BBTS restock of MP Sideswipe for $160. Too broke now for those impulsive buys.

I paid about €22/$31 shipped for a First Edition deluxe Starscream MIB on eBay. Really wanted the figure, and it wasn't being released in my country, so. Not a terrible price to pay, only €7 over standard retail here, but still.

Also paid $30 shipped for a loose Universe Cyclonus, because I really wanted the figure because I liked it, and wanted one to go with legends Tailgate. I'd had one before and sold it off, but even then, not too much over standard retail for a deluxe. I'm lucky in that I manage to find most stuff or a good deal, or at least I wait long enough for a good deal to appear :lol

I paid $50 for an MISB classics mirage. The only reason I did that is because I had a gift card.

I paid $50 for FE starscream (the japanese release I believe).

I paid $40 for IDW generations trailcutter (this included shipping).

I paid $90 for a reissue of g1 jazz, though I don't know the original retail price.

    I paid $40 for a RtS Grapple(el?).

TRU MP 10 when he was first released for $200, I believe. One of the three times that I've fell for the "I'll never see it at retail" fear.

Vintage figures, how much were the SRPs on those? With regard modern figures, I have paid scalper prices for ones that have become "rare".

I think... $15 over retail price? It was for Cybertron Thunderblast, MOSC, on eBay.

I'd count my acquisition of Classics Skywarp, but that was partially paid for by a friend as a birthday gift.
