What is the most you would spend for a good beer? I paid $135.

    Words of wisdom, for real.

For financial reasons, I intentionally shift to PBR pitchers after a certain point when I'm out and about.

I remember reading about that and becoming extremely interested. Now seeing it dancing in front of me again I am tempted to get it myself.

    :lol :lol :lol

I was actually thinking about the Utopias when I saw the thread title. I've always wanted to try it ever since I heard about it. I saw Jim Koch talk about it on Modern Marvels or some show on History channel. He said they had to specially breed a strain of yeast for over a decade or so to get it to the point where it was alcohol-resistent enough to survive at alcohol levels of above 10%.

You'd spend a lot more than that if you drive drunk and get caught.

I drink cheap cider. I drink it like pop.

I don't think I can appreciate a fine lager, ale or stout. I've done some wine tasting, and even though I know enough of the lingo to make my friends think I'm a connoisseir, it pretty much all tastes the same to me.

I don't have a distinguished palette. I feel bad about that.

The most I've paid for beer is the $6.50 at the Broncos/Packers game a few weeks back. And I was surprised it was that cheap for a 16 oz.

It's only the BMC (Bud Miller Coors) type beers that taste horrible.

Craft beers are amazingly different. Double digit percentage growth of the industry in each of the last four or five years reflects this.

In fact, demand is so high, that's it's one of the major reasons that there's a severe hop shortage.

The first time I drank beer it was horrible and made me sick, I think it was a Coors maybe. I really have to try all the Craft beers as I have heard once you go craft you never go back. What' a good recommendation as the only thing I really drink right now besides Liqueur is Smirnoff Ice.

Better six good beers than 30 cans of skunk piss.

At least, that's what I said before I quit drinking.

Yeah, once you start drinking good microbrews, you'll never want to touch another "regular" beer ever again, it'll be painful. I'll leave the recomendations to someone else since I have no idea what to recommend to a non beer drinker.

Someday, when I'm a little more financially secure, I'll try the Utopias. Most I've ever spent on a bottle was about $25. Was an incredible Imperial Stout.

Most I ever paid was $25 for a glass of Saison Dupont. Some chick my neighbor knew worked at a distillery and had a bottle for sale for about $80, but we all went in on it and got a glass each. Sad thing is, it was awesome, and would pay for another one.
Bad thing is it did'nt have much alchohol, like 6% or something.

Trappistes Rochefort 10 is also a great brew, too damn hard to get ahold of though.

EDIT- If you can find some , lemme know, and I'll go in half

Most I paid was 15 bucks for cheap beer in a big, stupid glass at "Medieval Times." Me and my buddies wanted to have a good time, so we all splurged. Little did we know that they would later give everyone cheaper beer sans glass for free. :banghead:
