Just curious what is one of the most expensive TFS you have ever seen or heard sell for? or even give your thoughts what you think something would be worth like a one off, prototype, LD or whatever.

By foot on the back of some mailman's bag in the middle of winter :gen069:  Don't know if the question was serious, but huge things (more than a ton) get shipped daily worldwide, so a 245lbs statue is not that uncommon.

Let's just say I think G2 Motormaster might hold the record (if we forget about that G1 Megs).

    Ebay:
We'll never have a definitive answer; I know of private sales for rare things that have been mind-boggling. I'd have to imagine anything with a production run of one or two would be the right answer though.

I would dump a significant amount of my collection for an opportunity to grab that pink Binaltech Meister, but I don't see that ever happening.

I'm not sure if it was ever proven as true, but *rumour* has it that the G1 Unicron proto sold privately for 10s of thousands of dollars.

The megs listed at 13000 on ebay but the actual sale price was closer to 8000.
Ummm, let's see i heard that Planet force recently sold their afa 85 sealed piranacon giftset for more than 8k, maybe some one could verify a price for me on that one. with the economy sliding into oblivion ebay prices have dropped considerably and I think as a whole sealed TF's are coming down in value. an AfA 90 superion sold for 4500 last year on ebay.

The highest AFA graded example of a rare US combiner giftset was recently bought for $15,000.00 by a member of these boards.

If he wishes to disclose his identity, and the details, he will pop-up here.

I would love to sell a transformer for that much money...but I'm sorry I think anyone who pays $1000+ for a figure that originally cost $20-50, even $100 dollar transformer is either a complete idiot...or has so much money they're just looking for things to spend it on.

On another note, I'd love to find one of those people to sell something to...I'd have enough money to buy back my collection and then some.
