Well then, a few horror film threads got me to thinking about which films I'd seen and I realised that a few of them are pretty daft, really.

So what is everyone's silliest, daftest, most bizarre horror film ever?

For me, hmmm, probably Hiruko The Goblin

It was very very very odd

Isn't "bizarre" and "horror film" mostly synonymous?

And does Coraline count? Because that was a little scary, and VERY bizarre.

    C.H.U.D.

    C.H.U.D. (1984)

The acronym alone makes it bizarre and AWESOME.

I don't watch many horror movies, but I'd have to say that the weirdest one I've ever seen is Joshiky├┤ei hanrangun, aka The Girls Rebel Force of Competitive Swimmers aka Attack Girls' Swim Team Versus the Undead.

It's a Japanese film about a girls' swim team that battle zombies, occasionally have sex with each other, and shoot would-be rapists with lasers from their genitals. All of this with as much fake blood and guts as one would expect from a Japanese gore flick.

There's a movie called "Teeth" about a woman whose vajayjay has teeth.

It may not be a horror movie, but Naked Lunch is a mindfuck to me.

And i have actually watched certain anime that i still can't understand and had such graphic violence, that i became physically ill.

The book is even stranger than the film..

as for the question.. though I dunno if its " Horror " .. it is Horrible.. Salo. it ranks right at the top of my list of movies I wish I hadn't even read about and would probably rather chew through my own ankle than have to actually see it.

I'm gonna say In the Mouth of Madness, for pure mind fuck factor. Although, I suspect that most of the things listed here are far stranger.

    Cannibal Holocaust.
That's one fucked up movie. Mostly because of the animal killings.

EDIT: Oh, and the music. Ugh, the music.

I've seen every movie mentioned so far....I'm going to have to give it to Boggs6ft7.

Although "Hard Rock Zombies" comes a close second... Hitler, zombies, midgets, werewolves, and mullets.

"Death Bed" should come with a "must be intoxicated" sticker.

Which is why it is considered one of the most offensive movies of all-time.

What do you mean? While I've heard only the theme song of the movie, I thought it was lovely...for a theme song to a very disturbing film.

It's the placement. You look at that directors other movies, you can see he's a bit twisted in the head.

Awesome peeps, a few to add to my watch list there!

I found Cannibal Holocaust more disturbing than bizarre.

I thought Salo was boring and over-hyped.

    Teeth is kinda funny.

In many ways I prefer a bat-shit insane horror film to a super realistic one. I think they get a bit too serious and aren't usually scary enough to warrant it...
