Extremely difficult question but what do you think is the greatest TF toy of all time? Please post pics along with your choices.

I've always been a Decepticon fan but in my opinion the greatest Transformers toy of all time is *drumroll please*...

MP-04 Optimus Prime. This figure was the one responsible for me getting back into TFs. At first I bought the Hasbro version but later sold it and bought the Takara version after they included the trailer with him. I love the size, the fact that he is mostly metal and just the overall look in general.

Sorry, no pictures, but to me, the greatest TF toy ever produced is God Ginrai, aka Powermaster Optimus Prime with Apex Armor.

But doesn't Powermaster Prime lack a few points of articulation most toys should have?

Fuck articulation. Play value trumps articulation.

I nominate G1 Overlord. Two cool vehicles that, after the activation of a nifty Powermaster gimmick, combine to form an imposing, armed-to-the-teeth robot who also has a sprawling base mode? Every bit a winner in my book.

    Psssshhhhh

Articulation?! God Ginrai has 8 wheels that can each be posed at a virtually infinite number of degrees.

Everything is just perfect: size, choice of alt mode, transformation, articulation, amount of kibble (none of which is intrusive), weapon integration (blends seamlessly into alt mode and has multiple configurations in bot). The pair of them makes things even better as they've got a neat yin-yang thing going.

To top it all off they can interact with another excellent mold, Mindwipe. Nothing crazy, but shoulder demon/angel is just too cool.

Definitely a "buy every single repaint" toy for me, and hopefully Hasbro complies (though I'm convinced they got a Soundwave & Ratbat redeco in mind for Mindwipe & Skystalker); I'd like to have one be a bird-bot.

Wow, we can only pick one? That is freaking tough. There are so many.

Right now, I would actually say MP-10. In my opinion he is the near perfect representation of Optimus.

MP-01/04. He is the figure that brought me back to the franchise and gives me a huge notsalgia trip everytime I see him stood towering over is season 1 buddies.

    Simply awesome.

That may change to TFC Devastator when I get all 6 members in the post at some point today but he's gonna have to be seriously impressive in hand to topple the original MP Prime.

G1 Optimus. For me, it started the game, and still think it is just amazing, articulation be damned. Still love the look of that little bugger.

Yea I agree with the G1 Optimus Prime. Just such a classic figure and no collection is complete without it.

    Optimal Optimus:
    Four alt modes
When it comes to the scale, alot of articulation. Tidal Wave came after BW and it was a modern day brick.
Plus the play value between the four alt modes and it could light up.

Second choice would of been MP Grimlock.

Well that would totally depend on why you collect wouldn't it. I for one don't 'play' with my figs so articulation all the way for dynamic poses.

Guys, just pick your favorite. Doesn't matter why you like it best. No need for all of the drama.

I have both figures and while I certainly love my giant new Devastator I would still have to rate Optimus as the better toy.
