Silly question, but is the actual budget known? I've seen all kinds of figures everywhere with no true confirmation.

I believe it's around 150 million. No huge stars, plus I heard they were cheaper on food for the crew than they were for The Island, so they were definitely conscious of keeping costs down. For example, they only made one of the 2007 Camaro, no backups in case it got damaged, as opposed to the nearly 30 Mini's that were used on The Italian Job (of course, those 30 Mini's combined still cost less than the one-off Camaro that was created for the movie).

It's actually cool that they wanted to keep it low-cost, makes people work harder to get it done.

Cheaper than Superman Returns? Well, that's like saying that a hamburger is cheaper than a filet mignon. :p

From what I remember, the budget is $100 million dollars. Considering what we have seen of the Transformers so far (granted, just looking for realism, not a design debate), then the money was well spent.

Oh, and cheaper food? I can see it now, Don Murphy rolling in with an apron and a pound of ground beef from Kroger's. "Getcha vittles while it's gonna be hot!"

    :poop

    I've heard numbers ranging from $150 - $250 Million. I think it's much closer to $150 than $250 Million.
