Best Hotrod imo is the Kiss Players version (which will also be the SDCC exclusive this year)

Get the classics version. It is an excellent version of the character at an affordable price.

True, the classics version is pretty good for the price.

    I've had:
    G1 Hot Rod
    Classics Rodimus
    Mega SCF Hot Rod

Out of the ones I have or have had, Classics Rodimus is the best bang for buck. The G1 version is still pretty good even w/o aticulation.

The best overall is prob the kissplay version tho, and its too expensive for my collection at this moment (cant drop $50 for basically an alternator)

Classics. Affordable, and while not 100% accurate to the original design, it actually improves upon it.

None they all su...*Sees ILD in thread and runs*

I missed out on the reissue but remeber it as a kid. To me Classics is a very good one to pick, especially if you are thinking of affordabilty. It is a very close representation, it has good articulation and I liked the transformation.

Are you counting the Rodimus Prime version of the character, as well?

If so, definitely go for Titanium Rodimus Prime - he's awesome, if imperfect.

If not, Classics Roddy is a good choice, and either the KP or Alternator Roddy could be interesting, too. (If the creepy KP thing doesn't do it for you, hunting down the upcoming SDCC exclusive might be the better choice.)

Kissplayer Rodimus comes with a FISHING POLE!!! Seriously, he is, IMHO, the best version of Roddy ever. In fact, he's probably my favorite Transformer I own. I really like him. But since he transforms into a Ford GT, he's not exactly G1. If you want a G1 Hot Rod, go for the Classics version. Inexpensive and a great reinterpretation of the original figure.

Dude, if you can find a Kissplay Rodimus for 50.00 then please point me in the direction. I have looked everywhere and cannot find one for less than 100!

Classics Rodimus and Titanium Rodimus Prime are both good ones to get. G1 Hot Rod still looks great. Kissplay Hot Rod is arguably the best looking but being that it's a repaint it's not as cool as having a original mold for it.

Classics Hot Rod, no doubt. Way more accurate and poseable than any ever released. The G1 is, well, a G1. Then there's the 6' Titanium that just looks awkward and whose cab mode is crap. The KP/Alt isnt worth the hassle. It looks kickass when it's in the GT mode but the car has wheels on the knees and just a really dispproportionate upper body.

Get 2 Classics Hot Rods. They're that good, and that cheap.

Really? Wow, shows how much I keep up with prices for bots these days. After it was released I passed it off as another toy I'd like to have but will probably never own. Looks like that just confirms it...

I love my KP Roddy (got him at original cost) but he's insanely expensive now.

Classics gets my vote for cheap and easy to find, though. I'm sure you could get one cheap on ebay if you can't find him in online stores.

I still like my Titanium Roddy, but he's not the best, unfortunately :(
