Have you ever noticed an extra joint or tab on a toy that has nothing to do with transformation or the articulation of the figure?

Example of an extra joint would be Titanium War Within the Fallen. His treads can fold up in robot mode even though you actually don't need them to. He looks just fine if you leave the treads in vehicle mode and you don't even need to fold them out of the way to transform him.

Example of an extra tab would be any of the Generations Junkion molds. There are two holes in the seat so that they can ride each other. That part I got. There's also a peg on one side of the seat/leg that doesn't peg into anything and a hole on one side of the handle bar/leg with nothing to peg into it. It's not like you're going to peg the legs together and they don't fit together anyway, I tried. So why are they there?

There's another topic for hidden features you discovered but this is more along the lines of things we still have no idea what they're for.

Universe Galvatron's extra 'legs'. Although I guess we already do know what they were meant to be for.

They have corresponding tabs/slots on the sides of the Junkion bike mode, so you can fasten their legs in. It doesn't work very well, from what I've heard, but that's what they're there for.

Yea, those pegs may have been made with the best of intentions, but fiddling around with them for a couple minutes and I gave up. May have to dink around again now that I have some free time today.

What corresponding tabs/slots? I've looked all over that bike because the tabs/slots I was talking about do end up on the inner legs but I can't find anything that looks like they're suppose to hold the legs in place. The only other tabs and slots I can see on the bike mode are actually part of the transformation. What am I missing?

There's the little part of the Legends ROTF Arcee that looks like a Minicon port, but... doesn't do anything.

There are several reviews on YouTube that show exactly what that's for. He looks a little big for it so most people don't actually use it that way but the tabs were intended for Masterpiece Starscream to be able to hold him in gun mode.

The random hook that can flip out of universe Galvatron's shoulder. Then again, it is Galvatron, of course there's random stuff on him.

That's more of an 'aborted purpose that we already knew' thing.

    And who combines?
