Hello. I recently picked up a Generations Junkheap at TRU, and I remember people saying things broke on that mold.

    What were they? His fingers?

Huh. They seem fine to me.

I didn't expect rubber to break.

It isn't the handlebar itself that breaks, it's the piece it's on that breaks. Like this:

I think I remember Hasbro saying they fixed the problem for Junkheap. Don't qoute me on that though.

I can ride my bike with no handlebars. No handlebars. No handlebars.

Seriously, the spot where the handlebars are screwed on are prone to break because of the rubber nipple thats on the end of the handles to catch in place when transforming. I broke 3 Wreck-Gars this way. Trim off the nipple.

    Excuse crappy phone pic:

Not the actual rubber, but the plastic encasing the base of that rubber. There's an automorph feature that'll absolutely destroy them. I used to transform him a-ok, but then I didn't play with him for some time, one or two transformations after, SNAP, god damn that sucks. I guess it adds to the "Junkion" look, though.

damn I remember hearing about this but I always wondered how people were breaking the soft plastic handlebars....this makes a lot more sense :lol

I've transformed wreck-gars and junkheaps multiple times and never had an issue though, but I'm pretty careful with my stuff. Definitely good to know.

I also seem to remember that his weapon was a bit too big for his hand and if forced into place, would stress the hand a bit. After stressing the handlebar joint on my first Wreck Gar, I left him as a bike and never had to worry about the hand...

Yeah trim the nubs on the handlebars and you should be fine. They're smaller on Junkheap than they are on Wreck-Gar, but I still trimmed mine after my Wreck-Gar's handlebar broke off. He's now permanently in robot mode riding my Junkheap. Don't wanna risk transforming either of them for fear of any more breakage.

Mine broke even after I trimmed that bump off both handlebars. and it broke while in a box, not during transformation.

Has anyone ever had the hand break on theirs? Mine has the stress mark, but no sign of breaking. My handlebar cracked, but I superglued it and it's been fine ever since.

No breakage on mine, but stress, yes. I trimmed the nubs on the handlebars, and sanded the weapon down so it wouldn't stress the hand. I don't know why in 30+ years of C Clip technology no one has bothered to say "Hey, you know, if you use that clip too many times, it's gonna break if the plastic isn't strong enough? Gee, maybe we shouldn't use that!" Animated Arcee was the same way. Her, Wreckgar and Junkheap are the only three I have duplicates of just because of that.

Personally, I think it was a fiendish ploy by Hasbro to make us collectors buy more toys. I just wish MaidenJapan would have come out with a 'Junkion Blacksmith Extra Hands and Handlebars' kit along with all that armor.

Does anyone know if Junkheap suffers from the same problem?

I hope not. I love this guy.

I baby the crap out of my stuff and wreck-gar is only holding on by the hair on his chinny-chin-chin and some crazy glue. I _tried_ to trade mine in for a better one but couldn't _find_ one, lol.

Anyway, I just grabbed a Jundheap and it looks solid.

Yes and no. He does have the same handlebar problem, but Hasbro implemented a fix. The nubs that cause stress to the plastic because of the automorph are smaller in Junkheap. It helps, but apparently it doesn't COMPLETELY solve the problem.

The only surefire fix is to nip the problem in the bud. Just trim the nubs off, and it'll solve the problem on both figures.

Oh wait, you're talking about a Junkheap. Don't worry so much about that one. Plastic on the RtS Wreck-Gar run was defective, so minor design issues were greatly amplified.
