i didn't think transformers were movies themselves

he's a generations figure, in the BIS comic, and sold in united, end of story, too little crushed up tinfoil detailing to be a movie fig imo

He's both. His style can fit in with both lines. I think Hasbro intended him, like Seaspray, to be able to be displayed with both lines. Personally, I'll display him with Generations but it's really up to the individual to place them where they want.

He fits the Classics aesthetic far more than he does the Movie-verse one.

I'm throwing RtS Lugnut in as a Movieverse fig and United Lugnut as the Classics/G1 version...the figure doesn't scream "Movieverse" for me, but that's how I'm slotting them in my collection.

Since we are on the subject, what about HFTD Lockdown/Axor?

Lugs is going into classics for me.

He fits nicely on my Classics - Generations shelf. However, if one feels more like having it with their movie toys, I think the design allows itself for that, as many others do as well.

One day at Hasbro one of the people making Transformers got a strange idea. If we can't make this character for all the Transformers lines is there a way to mix up the ascetics so it will fit into any of our lines.

So instead of making a Lugnut just for the movie line and then having to turn around and make a different Lugnut for the Classics line they just mixed Animated, movie, and Classics into one figure.

Heck once we get the Transformers Prime toys there really isn't any reason you could not place him in your Transformers Prime collection if you felt like it needed a Lugnut to go up against Bulkhead.
