This just makes me fucking sick to my stomach. I really wanna throw up right now.
Self-described wolf woman severed lost dog's head

I've seen the picture, it's horrible. No dog deserves a death like that. This is practically the first key-sign of becoming a murderer.

People do horrible things to animals, to other people, to themselves, and to their surroundings every day, unfortunately.

Also, you hear about extreme cases of animal cruelty more, arguably because hearing about cute animals being hurt makes people sad.

So it's not really a case of there being more animal cruelty "these days", as it is about you hearing it more. Which is still depressing.

Also, is this really a case of cruelty? The dog was already dead, and what she did more amounts to a grizzly act of taxidermy than of cruelty. Its a shame that a family didn't get to bury their dog, but if the dog had no identification on it, how would she have known it from any other stray?

To be fair, the dog was already dead.

    It's pretty much taxidermy.

She could have killed it, it's not proven exactly if she did it or not. But still even if it was dead, I'd dig a hole and bury it with some sort of makeshift tombstone, not cut it's head off and put it on my shelf.

According to her the dog was already dead. There is no proof of animal cruelty.

She could have, she could have not. But considering there's likely witnesses to confirm whether or not the dog was dead, witnesses who, according to the story, actually took the body. And again, seeing as the news story seems to indicate there was an investigation, with no arrest being made or charges mentioned, its seems unlikely that there is sufficient evidence to suggest she killed the dog.

For her, the preservation of the skull seems to be some manner of memorial in itself, and for some owners, taxidermy is how they choose to deal with the loss of their pet. If anything, leaving the body in the woods with the intent of it decomposing naturally and returning to nature seems a fitting thing to do with the remains of a stray animal found dead.
