Typically I use alcohol or thinner to strip paint off of plasitc figures, bu the paint has been on there a while and has become somewhate adhesive to the figure. paint is enamel with a little bit of acrylic on top. Ive seen paint being stripped off of figures previously without damaging the figure. Was just looking for suggestions from somebody with experience.

If you're trying to remove the paint, you should still be able to use alcohol for the acrylic removal and thinner for the enamel removal. It may just require some extra effort, though.

91% Isopropyl Alcohol from Walmart works for me! :thumbs2:

For minor paint apps: I dip a toothbrush in some of the alcohol, use it to brush the paint off, then rinse in hot water.

For heavy paint apps: I dip the part in a glass or ceramic bowl containing 91% Isopropyl Alcohol for either 30 minutes or 1 hour. Afterwards, I use a toothbrush dipped in the alcohol to remove the paint and then rinse the part off in hot water.

Try the alcohol and one of those pink square pencil erasers. Pink pearl I think is the brand

Thread popped up on this a few weeks ago, nd the eraser trick worked for him

Yeeeeeeeeeeep. This one, along with questions like "what paint should I use?" are VERY common and have been over the last decade (just check the time stamps on some of those threads!).

So, just to get this straight, using rubbing alcohol on figures should be able to get any factory-applied paint apps off, right? And there's no risk of harming the plastic?

I've learned in the Botcon customization class that tea tree oil works well also. Smells bad though :(

    Nope. :thumbs2:

Although I would recommend rinsing it warm water and drying it off with an air duster can to be on the safe side.

Yes. Back when Classics were originally on the shelves, this was widely reported for those working with the Bumblebee and Cliffjumper figures, notably the roof parts. Universe 2.0 Prowl/Silverstreak/Smokescreen is notable for this as well (fender/door parts).
