It has got to be his original jetmode, that gorilla upper body design, when he is the jet-mode cant be topped

 

My favourite would still be his jet mode in the first movie.
Am not a fan of cars and trucks, so his DoTM alt mode is my least favourite of all.

 

Give me the Mack truck; that thing was awesome. Just the potential of a Optimus/Motormaster crash with Op and Megatron is too awesome to ignore. That and the robot mode that came with it would be awesome without all the rust and half a face.

Definitely the Mad Max Truck. Love that Megatron was on the same level as Optimus alt-mode-wise for once (especially since they were evidently "brothers"), an utter shame the movie didn't do anything with it.

none of the above. *beat* What ? the jet mode is shit, the tank is even worse shit, and neither of them really appear in the movie. the truck does not really fit megatron. so, i would have to say megatron should be a large artillery piece, like, say, a karl gerat (link:Karl-Gerät - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) that would be so badass rolling into chicago, and then blasting shit with that giant cannon.

also, the voyager class megatron toy is rather crappy, even by dotm standards

Yep.

However to be fair, he's Megatron. If he wants to be a purple tank, then he'll damn well be a purple tank, and there's nothing short of a female autobot's mechanical persuasion that'll make my cannon think otherwise.

 

Although I think it looked kind of bad, the flying tank from ROTF is the most practical alt mode for Megatron.

I really liked the look of the Mack truck, and I think it makes a great toy.
However, I wish Dark of the Moon would have used a Gunship for Megatron, like Transformers: Animated.

 

Megatron is the only Transformers I know that looks good in any Alt. Mode he has EVER had.

 

jet was dope AND he was complete AND larger than all the other transformers, SO yeah jet mode for sure. Plus his gun was tight!

 

I honestly don't understand the appeal of DOTM Megatron. It was the most pathetic Megatron yet.

 

I loved Mack Megatron. The truck fits him.

If anyone suggests Megatron to be a gun, an innocent Kitten will get it.

Tank/Flying Tank

I for one really liked the spiky pile of metal that could jut out wing flaps to take flight. It essentially made him a triple changer. He had a scary baddass looking ground form and could blast off into the air without having to fully transform. Also for the fact that I like his RotF robot body the best.

I liked the idea of his Mac Truck but not at the expense of a flight mode...unless he could still fly in robot mode but they didn't show or reference that. Also I thought the whole point of a Mac Truck mode would be to lead to an eventual race/chase/game of chicken/showdown with Prime and his new trailer but alas what a missed opportunity.

I still think the B2 Spirit with a gauntling Fusion Canon gun would be awesome.
