    "I SEEKER for answers" :p

So what is a seeker anyways?

Is it a body type (or body typeS)? Is it a title? Is it a rank? Or a positions in the Decepticon? or just being a Decepticon with wings?

    Different Continuities, Different Explanation's

In G1, it was the name of a body type and the name of Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp's little group at the time.

The Movie portrayed Seekers as the best of the best and oldest of the old of sorts type of Transformers. Jetfire, as a rusting heap was an example.

All in all though, whenever someone mentions the seekers, they think of Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp.

I believe it refers to megatons elite air troops in g1 but originally it was just a word used for the starscream type transformers

I just think of starscream, skywarp, and thundercracker as the seekers or rather the elite flyers of the decepticons.

Seekers is a silly term. In only one continuity are their purpose ever for seeking something. I just call them Decepticon jets. At least it makes sense.

I consider them an equivalent in function to Hunter/Killer drones of Terminator fame.

The "seekers", are not necessarily the finders or the keepers!!! LOL!!:lol

Now seriously. I have never been interested in find out why they started calling them like that, but as far as I can tell in the G1 cartoon, they were never called like that (not that I remember). So to me they have always been decepticon jets! I think this term comes as the term "gestalt" for combiner teams as constructicons or combaticons or aerealbots etc. You will never know who started it but some people call them like that, but again I never heard NO ONE calling these guys "gestalts" in the show, maybe in other universes but not in the show.

    Seekers seek out the enemy...hunters.

On the autobot side it's scouts.

    This is g1.

I hate the constant terminology change through different incarnations of transformers so that's what I go by.
