Optimus will get his memory back but not right away. So wash out the thought of his personality staying dead. 

 

Sorry mate, the idea of him never regaining his memories is just to good of an idea for the writers to pass it up. If they have Optimus regain his memories, it will seem like an absolute cop out.

 

They could always pull the old Dallas series "It was all a dream", which made those fans of the day go wild with "wth?"

The TFP fandom would go ballastic.... 

Obviously kidding....but I prefer to wait and see what happens than get all worked up over the unknown.

To infiltrate the Nemesis unchallenged, and act as a saboteur. If he's seen as an ally, he'd gain access to much of the ship, he could gain schematics, plant bombs, disrupt machinery.

Dodging the question could mean any number of things. There are many possibilities, note that I never said that him faking losing his memory is the probable one, it is merely possible.

Again for possibilities, he could've been deceiving Jack an additional time, for the sake of keeping cover. Remember the episode of Beast Wars where Primal had Rattrap fake that he was switching sides so he could do some inside damage, and no one else could know so he could properly keep cover? This Optimus could be doing similar.

 

As amazing as this would be, I doubt the creative team have the balls to do it.

 

Well...I just got word that the shape changer (Makeshift) is also returning in season 2.

That should be interesting. I was hoping they would either find a way to bring him back, or bring in a similar shape-shifting character. Would be cool if he got a toy, even if it was just a Wheeljack retool/repaint. I can easily imagine Makeshift becoming Wheeljack's sworn enemy (much like Arcee & Airachnid, and Bulkhead & Breakdown).

Good point, but I imagine he was severely damaged in the blast. I guess his shape-shifting ability could make him more resistant to damage like that.

 

I dunno, man. They had the balls to make Unicron Earth's core, making the possibility of his resurrection something frightening and devastating for humanity.

After including something like that in TF: P, I think that the creative team has shown that they do indeed have the balls to do shocking and drastic things in this show. All bets are off now.

 

And I can assure you that extreme and drastic things will indeed happen in Prime, Like never thought of characters joining the fight, characters changing sides and even main character deaths and re-imaginings.

Preferably in flashback only. He's too much of an advantage for the Decepticons to be still alive: he can shape-shift into anybody, and he knows where the Autobot base is. Why can't he just ambush one of the Bots, kill them and assume their form, then radio for a Groundbridge? Or just straight up tell Megatron where it is?

I personally don't want to see Bumblebee dead, but I would like to see him get seriously wrecked and rebuilt into Goldbug.

But do you have official word on whether or not he is coming back? From your tone you sounded like you did. We *could* see flashbacks of Makeshift, but from where I stand I doubt we'll either flashbacks or his actual return.

 

Shadow2879 seems to have sources in Hasbro. He's been accurate on toy stuff in the past, I believe.
