With the big twist at the end of season 1, Orion Pax presents significant opportunities and risks for storytelling in TFP. Done well, this could be an amazing arc. Done badly, and it could be a horribly predictable buffet of cliches. Personally, I'm hoping that the Optimus Prime of old is for all intents and purposes, dead. That using the Matrix didn't just cause temporary memory loss for Prime, but actually eradicated everything that made him Optimus. This allows Orion to organically grow as a character, as opposed to being one dude for half a season, and going back into a completely different character the next half. Despite my personal misgivings for Transformers: Animated, I must admit that it's take on Optimus was one of the most memorable and original. If Optimus truly is 'dead', this would allow TFP to have a take on Orion very much in the vain of TFA Optimus, without simply being a carbon copy.
