What if the films were remade into an animated/cartoon movie?
Personaly I think it would be fantastic.
This would allow the characters to have more personality and more robot screen time and the ability to fix plot holes and be rid of the comedy & do the films justice.

A transition from live action to animation doesn't fix plot holes.

But yes, that would be fantastic to see an animated movie with classic hand-drawn animation.

Come to think of it, it would be pretty neat to have an animated show of the movies. The difficult thing would be the designs of the Transformers unless they simplified them a little bit.

It would be cool to have a ongoing series for the Movie-bots. I'd like that :)

Would there be a different director? I really can't imagine Bay would be that into making an animated movie, especially as they generally tend to take around four years to make. And don't feature real explosions.

Eh, I can't really imagine them being remade shot-for-shot into an animated movie.

Now, direct-to-video TFP animated-level spin-offs involving the antics of NEST/the Autobots/Simmons and Dutch... I'd buy that for a dollar. (or more)

I always imagined them doing a trilogy of sorts, to try and connect the dots/fill in some plot holes of the live-action movies. An animated movie to explain some things.

Movie 1: Explore the history of Cybertron, The Fallen, the original Primes, etc.. (Meant to connect with RotF)
Movie 2: Explore the relationships between Optimus/Megatron/Sentinel while they're on Cybertron, end with the war, the AllSpark being jettisoned, the Ark escaping, etc.. Basically the same as IDW's DotM Foundation).
Movie 3: Explore Dylan's past, his experiences with his father, Laserbeak, Soundwave, conspiracies, etc..

    Just my crazy thoughts. :D

What would be so bad about it?

I don't really see how going animated would get rid of plotholes...

Well, TF has been done as anime before, don't know why it couldn't be again.

    I never said continuation.
I said remake. Atleast using the animation of tf: prime, this would give them the opportunity to fix what was wrong with the movies, fix the plotting/humor, and still have great action.

If they're going to switch mediums to animation, they should rework the story completely to better fit that medium rather than going for a remake.

But how would certain people feel if someone else did BayFormers Animated better than BayFormers Live-Action? (and I don't mean TF: Prime).

Some people have a hard enough time seeing others point out the flaws of the live-action Bay movies without there then being an improved animated version of those films right there for comparison. They'd lose their shit and feel compelled to make multiple threads in the movie forum about the nasty hatorz that are saying the animated version is better than the live-action version.

I always wanted an animated/CGI NEST spin off series. It would've been a opportunity to do what the movies didn't: showcase the movieverse Autobots and Decepticons and focus on NEST guys like Lennox and Epps instead of Sam.

It's what Animated should have been. But We have TF Prime and it's closer to what I wanted in a new cartoon. But this is what I was hoping for after the 2007 movie.
