Find out here...
I'll admit that I haven't looked at the video, but isn't that what "Brand New Day" is about?
Cool video. I might need to try to track down those two "what-if" issues. I've been trying to get into BND when I read it at the comic shop, but it's such a rehash of Stan Lee's run it's ridiculous. Even down to the way they do the editor notes now.
If Pete and MJ had really never gotten married in '88, Joe Q would have made it so that Mephisto shows up 20 years later and makes it so they have suddenly been married for the last 20 years.
Nothing changes...except May's house spontaneously combusts, Gwen and Norman are alive and married, Ben Reilly is Venom, and Black Cat and Spider Man are having an affair...but BC doesn't know his identity. No big changes, just details explained away as 'magic'!
BND = absolute shite.
I remember reading this story when I was a teenager, and while I don't remember all the details that you mention, you're absolutly right. They could've done this without convoluting the fuck out of everything.
WHAT!?!? are you bloody serious? how does that make any sense...
He was being sarcastic.
Nonono...twas a joke. The bizarro version of current events of OMD/BND.
I was saying if they actually hadn't been married all this time, Joe Q would have come along and made it so they had been, mucking up 20 years of continuity and changing random things that don't make any sense, despite protests that "nothing has changed except they were married all this time."
In any case, Ben Reilly being Venom in bizarro land makes about as much sense as Harry being alive..becuz of teh magics!
oh my god....you gave me such a heart attack...i was completely freaking out...i quit ASM before OMD ended...so i totally thought that was a possibility....thank god its not...now i see what you are saying...
Or is it?!
dude...whatever that is just made me crack up...thats awesome...oh man...my wife didnt think it was nearly as funny, but i dont care. i had a good laugh from it...
The Sad part is the first few issues of BND did really wells for marvel so a certain editor will probably assume he made the right decision so expect him to now screw around even more with your favorite characters. As long as he stays away from the five remaining titles I get, I don't care.
Hard to say. The news that came up about it recently is how much Diamond sold to retailers, not how many issues were sold to customers.
O.P. is the gif master.
I actually work part time in a comic store, a small one but still a comic store. We only have 15 customers that have a reserve copy of the Spiderman Titles, that went down to 12 when OMD was announced but then went up to 16 when BND started. And to top that off, people that didn't even read Spider-Man have been asking for back issues of the OMD arc. Crazy.
All but two of my subs dropped the book and I'm down to ordering 3 copies for the store. That's five total for a core Marvel book. As opposed to my selling 20 plus of both core Avenger books. BND is killing the book in my neck of the woods. Those who bought OMD and the first couple of BND have really dogged it in my shop.
If Quesada-Man reads this, maybe he'll take the idea and run with it lol
Correct. In all honestly, I went back and re read the Clone Saga. And it ain't as bad as this. There. I said it.
It's still awful and did it's best to ruin Spider-Man; but this succeeded in doing so. OMD, ruined Spider-Man (for most, including me)
There's 7 minutes I ain't getting back.
