Other than maybe seeing Garry Chalk or Neil Kaplan reprising their takes on Prime.

I'd love to see Richard Epcar or Kevin Conroy take a shot at Optimus Prime. As it sometimes I hear both Prime and Primal in some of Epcar's characters.

Optimus could definitely stand to have more voice actors. Megatron and Starscream get to enjoy interesting new radical vocal depictions over the years.

My top 10 choices for a new Optimus Prime.

Dan Green (Yugi/Atem from Yu-Gi-Oh!) this man has an epic deep charismatic voice. I feel he could be great for a inbetween of Garry Chalk and David Kaye in tone.

Rick D. Wasserman (Thor from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes), he has such a unique gravelly yet noble sounding voice. Work for a younger modern Peter Cullen while being its own thing. Transformers fans may remember him voicing Air Raid in the 2011 DOTM video game.

Michael Dorn (Worf on Star Trek) if you want a very deep voice stoic voice for Prime, Michael could totally be your guy. He is currently voicing Fort Max in the Titan Returns series.

Jonathan Adams (Kang The Conqueror from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes), a bit of a playing against type choice also. Could work like Dorn but sound a bit more younger and could really give some real depth to the role. Transformers fans may also know him as RID2015's Razorpaw.

Michael Wincott (Death from Darksiders II), I imagine his Death for a more vicious and darker take on Optimus like if he was the Movieverse version cranked up even further.

Jeremy Schwartz (Z from One Piece & Sorbet from Dragon Ball Super), while not so much like those characters I feel Schwartz has a nice booming quality to his voice that could work for a mix of Cullen and Chalk's past renditions.

Norm Spencer (Cyclops from X-Men: The Animated Series), Norm has a very natural heroic sounding voice that would fit Optimus really well if they ever did a Transformers production in Toronto.

Fred Tatasciore (Cable from Deadpool: The Game) Fred could pull a David Kaye and go from Megatron to an incarnation of Optimus Prime with ease. He's had so much experience in the Transformers franchise the past few years, heck he even once voiced him in an episode of MAD. He's got the chops for a role like Optimus.

Marc Diraison (Guts from Berserk), I could see him working really well for another Animated esque Prime, he can really act and emote based off his Guts, and it'd be an interesting change of pace for Marc. A VA I find sorely underused.

Ted Danson (Sam from Cheers), yes I know this is a what consideration but I was thinking he can make for a decent leader in a lot of the crime shows he's appeared on over the years, sure his voice is this stoic naturally heroic sound to it but it could be an interesting experimentation I feel.

With the direction they are taking with Prime, he wont need a voice actor at all in the future series. They will have him shot up as soon as he appears, and die.
They will use some generic arghblagh boom footage and be done with it.

 

They're only going that route, so they don't need Peter Cullen 24/7.

I was just about to say Liam lol....at least for the films as I think he was the first choice since the producer didn't want Cullen. I think he'd really have to take him voice down even lower though, but I don't think it's a horrible choice.

 

The Voice actor from the Rude Awakening of Optimus Prime from Youtube, whoever he is, he does him great. A lot better than professional voice actors really.

Honestly, I have to wonder if Gregg Berger could do Optimus Prime; he's already done Eeyore in place of Peter in Kingdom Hearts. Would be fun to see him do another of Peter Cullen's iconic roles.

If not Gregg, then maybe someone like Keith David or even James Earl Jones would be neat.

 

Maybe Peter Cullen's voice will continue to live on the way Majel Barrett-Roddenberry's is.
