With all the new gimmicks, weapons, and electronics in TF figures it can be very detrimental to the overall figure. What figure(s) would you like to see Hasbro take a mulligan and re-model? And how would you like them remade? Personally, I would like to see the Dark of the Moon Deluxe Starscream mold enlarged as a leader class figure. Not that the HFTD Leader Starscream was awful, but I could care less for the electronics in favor of a more balanced figure and intuitive transformation. Thoughts?
RID Optimus Prime: Make his arms opaque and give him a REAL gun. RID: Megatron: Give him a more accurate cannon with a small switch on the bottom to turn on the LED and have the sword a seperate peice. RID Starscream: Make his arms opaque and just chuck that POS "gun" away.
Leader Screamer is leagues ahead of the DotM version. I say redo the Leader Ironhide. He needs some serious articulation.
Get rid of the toe on DOTM Sideswipe. It's a useless addition to the parts count and with it folded up, the feet look better and are more accurate anyway. And give that figure that same transformation but backwards so he can have the tail light chest. Release DOTM Skywarp. The fact that we didn't get a full set of Seekers outside of Japan was a crime. They could've put him in the Walmart exclusive assortment with Track Battle Roadbuster and ditch the ugly Lunarfire Prime. Give PRID Cliffjumper his Ion Cannons. They could replace the moving windshield pieces and the moving car mode horns in the parts count. Plus they'd bulk up his hollow arms.
The to keeps him from falling over, HIS FEET ARE WHEELS! And his chest is the front of the car in the movie.
- Energon Shockblast - Remove the sound gimmick and redesign the left arm. That's really the only problem with the figure.
Nope: Those are tail lights. On the topic of sideswipe, Give Sidearm SS a topless vehicle mode instead of the crappy DOTM mold. Everything about that figure was accurate until DOTM.The front headlights were on his arms, the windows were barely visible, and mods can easily be done to give him removable swords. Movie Ironhide. They should try to get his bumper to transform on his chest. And at least give him tire hips.
Get rid of MechTech. DOTM Deluxe Bumblebee should have had a cannon arm similar to his Battle Blades counterpart. DOTM Voyager Megatron should have had a shotgun and a thicker torso if front half of his tank became part of his body. DOTM Sideswipe would have had paint if they spent time on his paint apps than more plastic for the silly weapon. Continue with First Edition and make it one of only two toy lines for TFP (the other would still be Cyberverse). The problem here would be Arcee whose FE mold had rabbit-ear handlebars and whose PRiD mold had Wing Zero Endless Waltz wings and a tire carrier for a backpack. PRiD Optimus Prime and Bulkhead are just wrong. Soundwave is just too cool to be packaged in bright red and white; he's way, way cooler in FE packaging. There are more, but it's lengthy now as it is. ROTF Devastator would have had its components as deluxes and able to combine, and not that light-up-the-inside-of-the-mouth thing that didn't separate into the Constructicons.
Battle Ops/MP Bumblebee without the electronics. The figure would become lighter and easier to Transform, and can be kept MISB.
