Yesterday I was at my local TRU doing a little toy hunting. In the BWX section with the corner of my eye I spoted a grey and gold figure which did not compute in my mind. Upon closer inspection I noticed that what should have been a tarantulas was a G1 dinobot slag(the triceritops). I was amazed that someone would replace a dinobot for a 20 dollar tarantulas. Now I didnt pick it up for two reasons. !. it was incomplete and I couldnt verify the condition (judging byt the tale the best it could be was a c-7. Second the transcon is on saturday and I could probably find one there for the same price in better condition.

So my question to you, what have you seen in a package that didnt belong leading you to believe that someone swapped figures and returned the package to the store??? and what was replaces in the package..so toy X was found in toy Y's package.

    Thanx

It boggles the mind to think that people would do such things.

No, actually, it pisses me off. For the dishonest customer and for the dumbass store clerk who took it back.

I love how it's not even the universe constructicons...

Ummm... I found a totally mint complete original Rhinox in a BW 10th box. I couldn't pass up an original (I never had one) so I bought it.

I found my first Decepticharge the other day in TRU, but it was obviously repackaged (tape and tabs torn everywhere) and the hardtop was missing. So... pass.

Back when the Star Wars Power of the Force Two line was kicking and they were releasing the "Cinema Scene" 3 packs (i.e. Darth Vader vs. Luke w/ Emperor Palpatine watching in his chair on a base with a cardboard backdrop of the Emperor's throne room from ROTJ), at Wal-Mart I would find EVERY SINGLE ONE to be missing the actual figures, replaced instead with those G.I. Joe rip-off "THE CORPS" figures.

I asked the guy about it. Here's what he said:

    Hello,
I am sorry that you are having a hard time believing. it. I went to target and the ywere there just like that on the shelf. I looked through every other box because I noticed they were deifferent. I have the original receipt. I have not tampered with them in any way shape or form. I do not even collect transformers. I only sell them if I come across them.

So If you do not believe, that is fine, to each there own opinion. But in all honesty, If you are a collector, Than you are going to miss out on a very rare find.
    Best Regards,
    Aaron

He's an idiot. Scavenger wouldn't even fit in the bubble correctly, would he?

Went to TRU today and saw Alt Sideswipe in a red box. I thought to myself when did Sideswipe come in red boxes? But then on further inspection the box had Alt Windcharger's art on it. :lol  :stick:

A target here has the RID versions of the build team in the Universe boxes. I have also seen Cybertron Megatron in Cybertron Galvatron Boxes.

Well it could be possible that someone else did the swap, returned the figures to target. Then target put the figure back on the shelf, and that ebay seller found it.

There's a Target near me that has, for the past week, had an FK TM Waspinator in a 10th Anniversary BW Waspinator box.

Just for the hell of it, I asked him this:

"Why are they yellow? The box shows them as being purple and green...also, is there any way you could take close-up pics of the tape on the sides, so I can know for sure that no one opened it (like a return)? Thanks!"
Now, of course, I know why they're yellow, but I wanted to sound as innocent as possible.
And, no, it appears Scavenger does indeed not fit into the bubble very well if you look closely. Very curious....

That's got to be one of the most craziest thing I've come across this week. In Asia, sales returns from customers are discouraged unless the product is defective and even then, it can be a real pain to make the exchange...

This thread simply affirms that some transfans are total idiots. Who in the hell would want to get rid of toys by buying new product and screwing kids or other collectors out of the proper item by replacing them with ones they don't want any more?

It's obvious to me that the people who do that are just trying to get away with buying something, returning some equal figure in it's place and keeping the money for themselves, thus not only ripping off the store, but ripping off other people as well. If I were in charge of Wal-Mart, Target or TRU I'd change this returns policy problem; or at least make sure that everyone in that section knows exactly what products BELONG in what packaging in order to accept a return. (But I'll bet you 100 US dollars that the reason the stores get screwed over like this is because some unscrupulous collector, who I refuse to call a Transfan; actually WORKS at the returns desk and knows all the angles.) I mean how else can a G1 Slag be exchanged for a BW Tarantulas; and when Tarantulas' toy picture is even on the back of the box?

It's the cheapo jerks like those that give us fans a bad name. Greedy selfish twats. (That's right I said Twats, even though I'm not british; so sue me.)

Never saw it with Transformers, but with GI Joe, oh yeah saw it alot. (okay only one time) What the folk are, criminals.

I'm still floored over somebody stealing a a Viper v2 out of a pack at my local Target and the idiot workers there every time I left it out to show the fools PUT IT BACK ON THE PEG!

I shoulda took it up and bought it, bitched and made them give me it for half the price. Hell there was only HALF the product there.

That statement in it self seems fishy. He only buys to sell if he finds them, as if it's fucking rare to find Transformers on the shelves these days?

Also, the item title lists them as "RiD Long Haul & Hightower" indicating he may know enough about TFs to realize these characters were in the line called RID.

Then, the item description mentions that the other ones in the store being "the repaint versions", clearly indicating he knows enough about the toys to realize they weren't original releases.

Blah. Dude is trying to fuck people over, clearly. Also, it's not that hard to take the tape off the packages and replace it later.
