Ok so whats evreyone guess as to whats happening with generations. With the news of yet another figure (a junkion repaint of wreckgar) planned for the line do you think its gonna continue alongside the movie and who do you think is gonna be in each wave?

Also the recent reveal of repackaged cybetron scouts in generations pakaging adds yet another factor to weigh up in this equation

The thing is, Wreck Gar is Reveal the Shield, not Generations. I think if we were to list all the as yet unreleased figures we know are definitely on their way as part of GENERATIONS it probably wouldn't add up to that many waves. There may be some overlapping with the first wave or 2 of DotM but I see the new movie line putting Generations on hiatus for a short while at least.

You may be right th only new head molds on figures actually in generations are

    Scourge
    Thunderwing
    Kup

While rts/HFTD has new head molds pictured on

    Terradive
    Tomohawk
    Lugnut
    Wreck gar
(possibly perceptor seen as a reflector repaint has been hinted at)

That's what I figured. There are a few in RTS like Perceptor to Reflector and obviously Wreck Gar, but with a few carry overs from previous waves, we'll probably see maybe another one or two waves extra in both lines than what has already been announced.

Which makes five Generations figures by our math. There are usually four deluxes to a wave so the rest will probably be filled out by carry overs from earlier waves.

Let's see... I have just over 70 classics-style figures and just over 140 movie-style figures. However, that is only because they have released more movie figures! I also have a complete Animated collection and about 30 Beast Wars.

    I don't discriminate between lines :D

Sorry, anyone else is welcome to contribute! I swear we didn't mean to turn this into our own little discussion forum

But when the new list of DOTM toys came up, it become fuzzy if Arcee was the Generations or DOTM version.

Hasbro PLANS to run Generations alongside the movie line. But then again, they also had PLANNED to run Animated concurrently with RotF.

It's more a situation of what retailers will want to do rather than what Hasbro wants to do. Also remember that retailer computer listings do NOT guarantee a release (GI Joe 25th had almost THREE WAVES of product listed in computers which never got released, and several Alternators, including the Cadalac, were also listed never to be seen).

Right now, I'm taking a "wait and see"

Ok its just my guess here but perhaps hasbro is keeping ther options open with the retailer perhaps they are gonna release all the figures but if retailers want to can generations they will stick them all in RTS

    Ebay:
The molds aren't exclusive to a particular line. Wheeljack is Generations and a remold of Tracks who is RTS.

So the things we've been hinted so far, but not scheduled:

    Terradive remold
    Tomahawk remold
    Kup remold
    Wreck-Gar (Scrapheap)
    Perceptor remold (Reflector)
    Lugnut remold
    Jazz remold
    Thunderwing remold (Black Shadow)
    Scourge remold
    Arcee
    Warpath
    Starscream

Anything else hinted in instructions or Botcon? Any of these could end up in any line...

Yeah, we've known for months now that Hasbro plans on releasing Generations alongside the movie line.

Also, aside from new figures we've gotten word of (Thundercracker, Arcee, and Warpath), we now they still have plans for the redecoes of Kup, Scourge, Perceptor, and others I'm sure.

Generations is the replacement for Universe/Classics. It'll always be around, though the name may change in years to come.

Toy Fair is just around the corner. This may provide more hints if not outright answers.

It'll either continue on during the DotM toyline (taking over what would have been future RtS releases too), and then end when TFP's toyline begins, or it'll end, and then continue on sometime next year under a new name.

I would love to see it continue with DotM, but part of me has a hard time seeing it working out. We'll just have to wait and see. Toy Fair should show/tell us what it's future will be like.
