The title says it all. I'm a big Sideswipe fan, and I don't like a lot of changes that regards my favourite characters. I haven't seen DOTM yet, but I've been hearing things that James Remar voices Sideswipe in the film. Why didn't André Sogliuzzo come back to voice our favourite badass? This just sounds like a sad day for me... He sounded really cool as Sides... Why replace him with someone I've hardly ever heard of before?
I didn't even notice it wasn't him. He was probably busy with other projects though, that's what I'd guess.
i noticed it was a different voice-i LOVED the new one, thought it sounded fantastic-but i did feel a little silly, as I voice him in a stop motion and use one similar to the original voice-hope i dont need to change it lol
I picked up on it straight away, namely because Swipey was British in ROTF and had a distinct American accent in DOTM.
I didn't think it was British either, maybe more like a non-regional American accent, kind of like Ironhide's.
I didn't notice a change. His two lines in RotF didn't give me enough of a comparison. He certainly doesn't sound vastly different or anything.
yes exactly and the two being friends and warriors that makes sense. I never seen Ironhide as british as some others have said but he uses american terms so I seen him as a bit of a nomad voice wise, harnell's demo voice of southern sounds most like Ironhide's so it fits. Ironhide uses terms like " you feelin' lucky punk?" like clint eastwood and "punk-ass decepticon" like the american slang. I think sideswipe fits the same category as not being distinguished but being american overall. Come to think of it, Ironhide sounds alot like Clint Eastwood.
I didn't even notice the voice change until I got on here. I guess the lack of him talking in ROTF is to blame for that... the original wasn't emblazoned on my brain. I'm glad we got a closeup of him speaking though... that and the "mexican standoff" was EPIC.
