    G1?
    RID?
    Beast Wars?

For me, it was Armada. (I had very low standards back then.) The funny thing is when the first movie came out in, I had never heard of Bumblebee. I grew up thinking Hot Shot was the "Yellow Autobot Car."

So what got you hooked? Comics? Toys? Movies? Share your memories!

    G1 Cartoon

I was 5 years old when it all started and Ive been a HUGE fan my whole life.

I pretty much love all things Transformers and collecting is my biggest hobby.

All in all G1 is still the best of the series IMO.

I also love what IDW has put out comics wise in the last 5-6 years.

    RID Spychangers.
I had toys from Armada and Energon (though most are gone) and I never really got into TF fiction until Cybertron.
Oh and in before the usual "OMG, ilkei ti becuz of shial beauf" or "I hrt teh moveis lol" or "teh moveis, myo nyl peic efo trans4mr fictoin!"

Power Rangers hit a bit of a lull for me during 1996, but then I saw a huge pile of stuff at my local Walmart labelled "Beast Wars". Started watching the show as it started, got most of the first year of the merch and I've been hooked ever since, although my interest sorta fell during the last half of RiD and Armada, but I came back in Cybertron due to the Optimus Prime design. Still one of my all-time favorite toys, too.

Live Action movie. then I heard about all the other wonderful things to Transformers, and promptly lost a lot of interest in the movie.

    Movies!
I actually saw the first one like a year after it came out. I saw it cuz my friends at school kept talking abut it. I doubted it was gonna be that good, but now I love it!

I got in at Armada, got out for a while around Energon, got back in with the Live Action Movie.
Anyone who says the Live Action films didn't resuscitate the TF brand is a bit naive.

G1 Cartoon. I blame Ironhide and Wheeljack for all the money I've spent on Transformers.

Beast Wars. When it first started, I watched it merely because I found the show cool and interesting. Then I started buying the figures (okay, 6 year old me didn't have much money to buy them, so I got them as gifts or my parents purchased them). And then Beast Machines. But it wasn't really until a couple years later and RID that I suddenly became aware of the concept of "Transformers". Until RID, BW and BM were simply "cool shows about robots that change into animals and have toys". Then *ta-dah! light from the heavens* I discovered... THEY'RE TRANSFORMERS! :D

copy&pasted [slightly modified] version of a youtube post of mine-

i'm 40,was a comic collector from the start and i very distinctly remember seeing that first bottom-of-the-page ad in the marvel books with the transformers sillouettes,no info, just that they were coming, then came the full page version of the ad,and then hangin out at this kids house watching g.i.joe,which we were both big into [marvel was doing the little animated ads for the joe comic then,i remember the stupid big-deal "first comic book advertised on television!!" thing going around at the time] and BAM!! the commercial for marvels TF#1 comes on.wait did i say "comes on"? what i meant was;blasted into that living room like some kind of visitation and changed my life.i was a deer in the headlights, trying hard [and without hope,i realised as i was doing it] to absorb the visuals, the action, the character forms, the friggin glorious COOLNESS of this new, unimagined thing i was seeing.there seemed to be so much and it was over in a split-second,and me and the kid did the classic "holy shit, did you just see that!?!?" look at each other, like a train just barrelled through his living room.i dont think it had the same life-altering impact on him [he stayed more into the joes],but that shit
just burned into my brain that day.i can still feel my body on the day when i think about it.it was all downhill from there as it goes...
