Optimus Sledge inspired...
anything useful that will help me survive
Fear The Sodomizer, zombies.
For me, the question this always throws up is: shotgun or rifle? Personally, I come down on the shotgun side. If you do need to kill a zombie, it's going to be up close. The ability to hit the thing half a mile away is irrelevant. You want something that'll drop the undead monstrosity with the minimum of fuss.
Unless we're talking about running zombies, but those are just silly.
Shotgun w/ Infinite ammo and Chainsaw w/ Infinite Gas. Haven't you ever seen a zombie movie?
In a way, this game isn't much fun in the UK. We don't have the wealth of guns lying about, it would pretty much be a "grab whatever you can find." So break into local gunshop, hope no one's got there first, steal shotties, hope there's something better than birdshot available. If you get really lucky, you might find some police or military weapons left by overrun officers.
If I was in the US, I'd be thinking "AK47 or automatic shotgun?" This to accompany the 1911 .45, Beretta 92F 9mm and S&W .357 revolver. Then hope to link up with some other survivors and barricade ourselves in a supermarket.
Wait!im gonna change mine to a Flame Thrower.
In terms of weapons, a simple rifle, a shotgun, a pistol, plenty of ammo for all three of them and a crowbar. Rifle as a primary weapon, intended for medium to long-range, since that's as close as I would ever intend to be to a zombie. Just a standard rifle, with no automatic setting to potentially waste bullets; only takes one bullet to take a zombie down with a headshot. Shotgun for a close-range projectile weapon, with the intention being to use the wide dispersal pattern of the shot to knock the zombies down long enough to get away and then pick them off from a distance with the rifle. Pistol as a last-ditch projectile weapon...and just in case I ever need one bullet for myself. Crowbar as a strong, close-range melee weapon that also has a number of practical uses.
I have never understood this as an anti-zombie weapon. Surely the only way to make a zombie worse is for it to be on fire as well?
A Freddy Krueger glove. You never have to worry about running out of ammo, or dropping it. Just strap it on, and shove it through the skull.
Oh so very true.
A Damn Hammer.
it is never going to work on a zombie
The only upside I could see to this is at night you can clearly tell where the zombie is if it's on fire. Otherwise, you just have to wait a while for it to crumble apart, which would probably take too long.
I would take an AA-12 automatic shotgun, and plenty of frag grenades and c-4 charges. The AA-12 for close range devastation, and the grenades and c-4 charges to set traps and disperse zombie mobs. I would also bring a Katana or a sword, incase I run out of ammunition.
EDIT: i would also bring night vision goggles, and a canteen.
I would get a benelli auto 12ga. shotgun, springfield 1911 .45APC., a Glock .40 and a Glock .40 backup... Why? Because that is what I have in my closet and it's close........
I take back what I said before. I would bring a AH-64 apache gunship. Id like to see the looks on the zombies faces when there getting ripped to shreds by 30mm shells and hellfire missiles.
Scratch what i said before. Id bring an AC-130 spectre gunship.
That or a b-2 spirit.
Or a b-52 equipped with nuclear bombs
