What games define the SNES that aren't Mario or an RPG?

A friend of mine is selling off his vast Super Nintendo collection and was wondering if there is anything worth picking up for the SNES.

    I already have:

    F-Zero
    FF3
    Mario All Stars
    Mario World
Zelda a link to the Past
    Star Fox
    Secret of Mana
    Mario Kart

Is there any must have games I should add to my own collection? Thanks.

I know a lot of people would say the Donkey Kong Country games, and i'd recommend the Super Star Wars games. I remember those being pretty impressive when I was younger.

Contra 3 pretty much owns. Also, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts is one of the few proper game for real gamers.

So I guess Super Mario RGP: Legend of the Seven Stars would be a double NO on your list?

    -Super Metroid
    -TMNT IV: Turtles in Time
-Yoshi's Island (Okay that's technically Super Mario World 2, but I had to say it. So great).

    Super Probotector
    Sparkster
    Castlevania III
Super Metroid - the fact this wasn't in the first reply is a fucking crime and you should ALL be ashamed of yourselves.

    Except ZeroMayhem. He is cool.

You say no RPGs but you have FF3 in your own list... hmmm... (Chrono Trigger's not there, how dare you...)

    Donkey Kong Country
    Castlevania 4
    Street Fighter 2
    Link to the Past
    Star Fox
    Super Metroid

Ones with no mention so far, Megaman X and Super Punch-Out

    Not mentioned so far -

    Assault Suits Valken / Cybernator
    Batman Returns
    Super Punch-Out
    R-Type 3
    Final Fight 2 and 3

    Seconded -

    Tournament Fighters
    Turtles in Time
    Mario RPG
    Yoshi's Island

SF2 was defining at the time, but playing a SNES version now is idiocy when better ports are available on pretty much every system since.

I also thought Chrono Trigger, but that's a RPG.

    Still, I'll Second and/or Thirded:

    -TMNT: Tournament Fighters
-MegaMan X, X2, X3 (At least one of them, if you don't already have them on one of the newer collection sets).

    I am? At last, recognition!

my personal favourites are: super probotector/contra, castlevania iv. Castlevanias music alone just immerses you into the game.

X-Men for SNES was an overlooked gem in my opinion.
