Lots of incredible games have come out this year but which game ending up being a stinker (in regards to your own personal tastes) even though it had the chance to be something truly special?

    TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled.

A giant WTF! A great game that many look back fondly on, and its "improved" with its new features and updated graphics but the gameplay was some how fucked up and the whole enjoyment completetly diminished before my own eyes.

Its like some-one shat on the original code and told me it was better because it looked modern. Fuck you, for fucking up a great game.

    Saw

I really didn't think it was going to be ground breaking but I honestly thought doing the puzzles was gonna make up for it. Unfortunately a story worse than the movies and a combat engine so broken I was losing fights because my character stood there while pressed the fucking combat motions. Enraging.

Also, any game I can get all achievements in one playthrough is disappointing.

Hmmm, not sure. Didn't buy much games, and enjoyed them all.

I'll agree with the TMNT disappointment. Too short and no replay value whatsoever.

    ODST springs to mind, too.

Just not a very compelling experience overall since usually I'll burn through the campaign in days if not hours. Here I've just stopped with little to no inclination to go back and finish it.

Firefight is alright, but, again, nothing totally spectacular.

Damn, I was planning on getting this in December, Nathan Fillion and Noir Music told me to.

I would say TMNT also. Not only am I almost as huge a TMNT fan as Transformers, but I respect the Smash Brother's folks, and thought this would be the ultimate fan-wack. So the let down hurt a lot more.

Recall, how about giving us a "biggest surprise".

That would go to Transformers for me. Expected it to blow chunks. It wasn't the greatest game by any means, but it was better than expected and I grew to love their new Transform scheme.

Yeah I love this game for the SNES but when I tried the demo I hated it. The so called "update" they gave it really killed all the charm the old one had.

ODST is a very much a co-op game imo and even if you have people around you it can be hard to motivate yourself to play. It is a great game and I personally enjoyed it but after the initial fortnight I haven't even thought about playing it again. Yet I was the same with Halo 3, it took me a long time to finially get in the mood to go through it all on Legendary and the like. I say pick it up and give it a shot, it plays better than any other Halo.

TMNT wasent that bad, it was a bit short and some alternation was done, not nessasarely in the good way. Yes I prefer the old SNES one to but I still went through with all 4 turtles..not the hardest game to do, but then again so wasent the SNES version.

I HEART Coop. Developers don't use it enough.

Doh, poop on a stick. I thought you guys were talking about TMNT: Brawler. Thus I was commenting on the Smash Bro's team. Hell nah, I loved that little remake. It wasn't perfect, but we still play the hell out of it, and my Son loves it. Definitely not my biggest disappointment. TMNT fighting game was though. And it didn't have Usagi.

As far as ODST goes, it was underwhelming but not dissapointing in the long run. Since I always have someone to play co-op, we keep going back to get all the firefight achievements and such, so I think it ended up being a satisfying gaming experience.

I would say my biggest dissapointment was Street Fighter 4. It was well rounded as a fighter, but I was really hyped and ended up with... well, a fighting game, and in all my excitment, I forgot just how unsatisfying fighting games had become to me. In addition to that, going online made me realize that I'm not really up to spending the time to learn the game enough to compete.

TMNT was a decent little arcade title, but I wasn't expecting anything besides the old arcade game with revamped visuals and that's what I got. Well, the lack of the SNES content did dissapoint me, but not more then the overall experience of street fighter 4.

Have to throw another TMNT in. I was kinda disappointed in Gran Turismo for the PSP too, but overall it's TMNT.
