Ok from the first game we only got Five of the characters. To me that seemed like a fail on Hasbros part but they have their reasons. What characters from the new game are a must for you as toys, and what ones do you think they can pass on?

For me If they make one of the dino bots, i would think they should have to make them all.
For cons I think we should get Shockwave. and Starscream at least.

I also think they can now skip Prime and Megs for once. What are your thoughts?

Optimus would get made either way. But I prefer not. Not that FOC Optimus don't look badass, but if there is really ONLY 5 slots I'd rather it be given to dinobots or some other underpresented characters.

 

Beyond those that shadow has mentioned are on the way (Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Ironhide, Jazz, all five Dinobots, Megatron, and Starscream), I'm hoping for Wheeljack and Shockwave. I'm also hoping that the Bruticus combiner figure he's mentioned turns out to be FoC based, rather than TFP based.

As for ones I think they should pass....Cliffjumper and the Insecticons come to mind.

 

considering they know the WFC toys were well recieved, and the fatc that DOTM made a crap ton of $, i think we'll see more than 5. I think we'll see Prime, Megs, starscream, Shockwave, Jazz, Grimlock. I would love the rest of the dinbots.

There's still a lot of WFC designs I'd still like toys of, and I'd be tempted to lean towards toys of G1 characters that didn't have modern-day altmodes to begin with, or were already Cybertronian, like Arcee or Shockwave. These would make decent Classics versions of the characters.

But if I were Hasbro, I'd definitely start with the recognisable, marketable characters. I can understand why they'll probably do Optimus and Megatron over again.

Repaintable characters make sense also, so I think a seeker mold and a Ratchet/Ironhide mold would be worth doing. That's at least 5 potential characters from 2 molds.

Beyond that, there's designs that are just awesome, like Jazz, Wheeljack, Slipstream etc. I'd do as many of those as I could.

So my list would look something like:

Deluxe:

1. Starscream
2. Ratchet
3. Shockwave
4. Jazz

And if they let me do more:

5. Arcee
6. Wheeljack
7. Slipstream
