These are movies that I consider sacrosanct:

    - Star Wars ("Luke, I am your father" "NO!!!")
    - Grease (what? I love that movie so much!!!)
    - Twister (the one dealing with tornadoes, morons)
    - Star Trek Generations (Scotty to Kirk: "Is something wrong with your chair?")
    - Transformers The Movie (it's #1 on my list)

And all the classic Disney movies. Yes, I'm as big a Disney fan as I am with Transformers and anime. I got a lot of loves... is that a problem to you?

    1. North by Northwest- Probably my favorite Hitchcock film that stands up pretty well today. Carey Grant is very entertaining adding his wit and humor to this film. Who can forget the plane scene? The musical score is excellent too.

    2. Jaws- Probably one the most intense films I ever seen. The shark doesn't hold up as well today, but the idea was what you didn't see that terrifies you. Very few horror films do that anymore. Plus, the performances by Richard Dreyfuss, Roy Scheider, and Robert Shaw were excellent. Add John Williams’s famous score to it, and this is one amazing film.

    3. Close Encounters of the Third Kind- Another Spielberg film that really captured people's imagination. Dreyfuss has another great performance. Another awesome score by John Williams and special effects that are still pretty dazzling. One of my all time favs.

    4. Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan- Arguably the best of the bunch. Ricardo Montalban pulls off the villian Khan so well. The battle at the end is feels like a submarine battle which is very intense. A really well done piece of film making!

    5. Gojira (Godzilla- 1954) - The original uncut Japanese version is the only way to truly appreciate this film. IshirĂ´ Honda directs a very dark, moody movie that touches on the consequences of the atomic bomb testing. The haunting images of Tokyo after Godzilla's attack and the after effects of radiation poisoning really touched a chord. The scene in the hospital with patients dying from radiation was pulled off so well, many thought this was footage taken from the aftermath of Hiroshima. The score by Akira Ifukbe is chilling, and compliments the film well. A must see classic for sci-fi buffs!

    6. The Lion King- I saw this movie with my son on Father's day when this initially came out. Just a breathtaking film, with great animation, excellent voice acting, and an awesome musical score. The whole father/son relationship really struck me personally. One of Disney's last great animated films in my opinion.

    7. Star Wars Trilogy (Original-Especially Empire Strikes Back) - Probably one of the biggest influences growing up and exposing me to the sci-fi universe. I don't think I need to explain here.

    8. Transfomers:The Movie- Just a fan favorite. I saw this on opening day 08/08/86 and sat through it 3 times. The audience cheered their favorite scenes, and it was just an enjoyable experience to see the characters on the big screen.

    9. Batman Begins- The way a Batman film should have been done from the start. Excellent film.

    10. Terminator 2 - Just a non-stop rollercoaster ride that doesn't stop until the credits go up.

    Other worthy films:

    Blues Brothers
    Stripes
    Trading Places
    Glory
