There's no way that missile barrage was enough to kill every other Autobot before drifting off. And the Ark was pretty intact upon crashing on the moon.

Whats more weird is that they were all in the same position they were in when they left Cybertron. They ran out of energon? No, because again they were still in that battlestations position. If it were energon problems how come they didn't go into stasis-lock in a pod somewhere?

The only other explanation is that Sentinel killed them all while they were drifting and then locked himself away until someone--Decepticons--came to rescue him.

I think that sounds legit, so that way when someone did rescue them, he could get away without anyone knowing.

In the novel they are actually decepticons "playing dead" waiting in stasis

it would have made more sense if they showed it how foundation explained it, when they where hit by the missiles, it either A) triggered the space bridge tech and sent them to the moon or B) Sentinel was activating the space bridge when he got hit and they still got sent to the moon. in the comics it goes from missile barrage, to involuntary transwarp, to crashlanding. not to mention Sentinel secured himself in the crashvault so how do we know the crash didnt kill the rest of the crew

This. The one of the gunner's seat seems to have one hell of a case of whiplash.

The missles probably got rid of a good chunk of them, then the Energon deprivation on space worsened, THEN the crash took the few left [presumably, Sentinel only survived because he was on the "captain's cabin"].

And Sentinel might have killed the survivors for the heck of it.

For all we know they were in stasis lock on the moon... When Soundwave killed them in their sleep.

Basing this all on memory now. Ask yourself this, why are they still in their gunner seats when the ship is spiraling out of control?

How far is Cybertron from Earth? I would think they would have tried to repair the ship or at least stop it from spinning. They certainly wouldn't still be on weapons systems.

They probably DID try to stop the ship in the mean-time they flied senseless into space, but found out the ship was damaged beyond repair [and thus, permanently "locked on" the course to Earth], besides, Sentinel Prime, being the gigantic douchebag he is, wouldn't allow anyone to change the course.

About the Protoforms being on their battle stations:

1 -They probably wanted to go out in a honorable fashion, seems very Autobot-esque to me.

I mean, picture the Protoforms about to crash on the moon:

"It's been an honor sir!" *salute and goes to the turret gun, bravely facing death*

2 - They had to watch out for any hostlie Decepticon Ships [or hostile alien ships of any form], staying on the turret was a security measure so they wouldn't be surprised by any enemy.

3 - If my memory still works, there was only ONE person in its battle station [that person being the Protoform in the turret gun], the rest were just scattered across the ship.

4 - That [those] "battle-stations" guy might have died on the original blast [on Cybertron] that crippled The Ark's system [and at that moment, they were fighting a battle, being on their battle-stations is justified].

I think its a fair estimation to say whoever wasnt killed by the initial attack died during the crash.
The only reason Sentinel survived was because he was in the crash vault.

That or yeah, Decepticons playing dead.

If it was Decepticons playing dead wouldn't Optimus and Ratchet have detected them while on the Ark?

In the novel it said something like "if only optimus and ratchet had looked closer at the dead bots and noticed they still were active" or somethin like that.

granted novel dont mean jack but still...

A ship spiraling like crazy is not something that will leave many of its crew alive and well. And then, there is the huge impact of the crash.
