So please tell me how Bay's movies are only for the GENERAL MINDLESS STUPID BRAINLESS ONLY WANTS ACTION NO PLOT OR STORY PUBLIC????

His movies are so entertaining even powerful leaders come out and say they enjoy his movies.

But the people in this web site always result to insults and flame wars because they don't appreciate or approve or even like M Bay's directing.

    To each his own I guess . . .

He is a great action director, he just shouldn't be in charge of the humor in his movies.

I think I read your thread title the wrong way. I read it as if you meant "what's the matter with this guy", but really you seem to mean like "why do people have a problem with him".

BTW, this is already posted in the news forum.

I got nothing against him either, but this is a dude with a history of making shit up. Anyway, it could be true, it's not like politicians have any better taste than the rest of us.

I don't believe anything unless you can prove it to me..

It dosen't work that way though.. It isn't up to me to disprove something.. its up to him to prove it..

I also just read that a fire destroyed the master print of Armageddon.. There is a god..

If that were the case, then why haven't I heard news of it where people are dancing in the streets like at the end of Return of the Jedi?

    :horse:  ...I know.

Ok. Firstly, I enjoyed Bay's 'The Rock'. It was stylish, well directed and a great action film. Even 'Armageddon' with its daft premise was OK. I had not seen a Bay film since.
    Until 'Transformers', that is. :popcorn
I won't flame blindly, I have solid reasons:
My main gripe is the cinematography. So tight and claustrophobic that at many times I couldn't get a bearing on what was happening - the few wide action shots there were looked great, like Optimus falling off the highway with Bonecrusher, so why did he need to resort to such tight shots and so many of them?
I have since learned that the humour in the film is his own. Now, a few one liners is fine, but the bots were stooges in the first film and the human humour was also dire and bad. It was too 'wacky'.
As for Turturro's secret outfit, S7. CIA (Completely Incompetent Agency) would have been more apt. :thumb
The story I can deal with, even if it loses everything I loved about the original show, but its the overt silliness and the tight framing that bugs me the most. I just can't enjoy Bay's style. :(
His attitude drives me bonkers too. "I won't make the film the way fans like it, they are going to like how I make the film! Period!" :lol
He just wanted to make a 'family blockbuster'.
They should have gotten someone with a passion for it, like Sam Raimi with 'Spider-man'.
It can make all the $$ in the world, but its gonna take more than that to swing my vote. I just hope he has finally listened to the fans with ROTF. I'll be seeing that soon.
