I remember these were showing up on ebay and were suspected to have been smuggled out of a factory. Were they ever confirmed to be actual factory productions? I guess the toy never ended up making it to retail, huh?

Far as I last heard about that figure was it was not an official product.

So either a custom or a KO.

Been wondering about that too... Looks legit though... Anyway, was not prepared to pay $400 for it, I'd rather pay $200 for an MISP Bugbite. :)

And a few lucky folks here (not me though) were able to nab one before they started screaming out at USD $400-ish. (Ouch!) :redface2:

And technically, he was not Glyph as what others have mentioned, just Blue BB.

From what I remember someone asked Hasbro at a Botcon panel or something and they said "Nope nothing to do with us" or something to that effect.

I do remember the pics and wanting one something fierce though.

Didn't KOTOYS have a couple of these at one point? I dunno if it was a KO or what, but it seemed to sell out fast.

"Lunchtime Special" is a fan term for a theory that postulates certain toys in odd colors are made at the official factories, but without authorization by Hasbro or Takara. The extreme version of the theory suggests that a single factory worker uses the official equipment for a small production run of the toy in its "special" colors while the rest of the stuff is out for lunch.

Doesn't actually work like that, though.

Yup, that was me. Surprisingly, I even got a little light jeering for asking, despite that being the first forum we had to confirm or deny its authenticity.

I REALLY didn't think it was a "that guy" kind of question, but I guess the rest of the con-coers disagreed :lol

Good Man, if you don't ask the question you don't get an answer, and when else are you going to be able to talk to the Hasbro people. Better a question like that than wasting the time on someone asking "How come you suck and when is leader class Star Upper going to happen"-type question.
