I'm curious as to what fellow Transformers fans and collector's hobbies are next to Transformers. (we all know collecting is an addiction that spans beyond just one thing) This crossed my mind today when I had to make a decision about buying a new TF or having the money to purchase something else pertaining to another hobby.

Besides TF, I play guitar in a metal band, collect comic books and related merchandise, draw, cook (for fun. I'll be a late culinary school enrollee soon), and spend a good amount of time ( and money) keeping my Camaro on the road.

I just push my woman down the stairs the morning after.

    Does that make me cheap?

    Stick it in her pooper.

Transformers take up most of my fun money, tbh. Sometimes I'll pick up Revoltech or other figures that interest me, but the lion's share goes to TFs.

I think this goes in either General Discussion or the Toyark.

But Bionicles absorb my income, as well as food sometimes.

Really, not much else. I am saving up for Shinkis though.

For my own greedy collecting needs? Well, video games, Bionicles, and Zoids take a good chunk outta things. Then around holidays and birthdays there's gift giving. By the time I'm done with that there goes another slice of the pie.

After I got married, bought a house and started having kids, I had a lot less disposable income. I decided TF's where were my money'd go. Well, that and few comic book mainstays (you can probably guess which ones by my user name). Before that I collected Marvel legends, and the 2002 He-Man stuff too. The 25th GI Joe line temped me for quite awhile, but it got out of control fast, there's no way I could keep up even if I wanted to.

Excluding essentials (food, shelter, etc), TFs are really the only thing I spend an appreciable amount of my disposable income on. I used to spend a bit of money fixing up my bicycle, but it finally broke down for good, so I just got a new one that won't need tinkering for awhile. Beyond that, I buy one or two comics a week, a book or DVD every so often and any Cyborg Superman toys that come out. That's about it, though.

I've actually cut back a lot on my discretionary spending compared to a few years ago and I mostly focus on putting money away in savings. I used to collect Revoltechs but I had a rule that I only got figures from that line based on anime I'd actually seen, so when it switched from mostly-Evangelion to mostly-Gurren Lagann, I dropped it. I used to collect DC Superheroes figures, but when they switched over to DC Universe Classics, the characters got too obscure and they got to be impossible to find at retail, so I dropped that too.

Nothing much really. I mean, I've got complete sets of Simpsons WoS figures, Muppet figures, Nightmare Before Christmas figures, Lord of the Rings figures, I'm up-to-date on RotF now that ya mention it.

So yeah just video games for the time being, and random purchases here and there (like today I bought an $80 RC Car toy from Toy Story =D)
