Hi I just got my United Rumble and Frenzy and I see they have C0311 on their right shoulder. At first I thought that test shot figure or something but after searching some youtube review I see that the marking is standard. Does anyone know what it stands for?

Production in March 2011? I don't know, but that would fit in with their release...

I think it's an homage to the number on the original casette details but can anyone confirm this?

Labels on the original G1 toys said "MC 60".

It's also not an homage to the Japanese ID number just in case someone suggests that. "C" would indicate "Cybertron" (Autobot), the "C" and "D" indicators didn't start until 1986, and "C-311" was Grand Maximus.

Cast 03 11, that sounds like a reasonable explanation.

It's a tag of some kind from the production at the factory. You can sometimes see it on other Transformers toys as well. It's an internal factory code, not anything significant to the design or deco.
