    From Seibertron.com's Hasbro Q&A
Universe won't go further, but will be done in a different fashion, most likely meaning under a new name other than Universe.

So, what would you name it?

    Transformers: Sledge.

Aren't quite a few of the toys coming out under the ROTF line more Universe-style anyway? Maybe they're just going to go with having one line running at a time, but with Classics/Universe stuff getting released within it.

Except that Universe IS continuing, just not as a main-line anymore.

Plenty of possibilities. I'd say it depends on what (or what ELSE) Hasbro plans to do during that sometime-in-2010 timeframe, such as the future cartoon and its toy line.

Perhaps Hasbro's statement refers more to the greater number of classic-ish molds in the 2010 ROTF stuff. Perhaps the next Classiverse line will be like Classics and just be "Transformers" with no official subtitle.

Exactly. Case in point we have images of boxed Leo Primes, Hardheads, Powerglides, Skyfalls, Skywarps, etc still with Universe heading; but Hasbro always said the line would go into hiatus. The examples we have seen are store exclusives so they could always go with another name for the line once ROTF dries up.

I'd be fine if they called it Classics, Legacy, Generations, or just Transformers. I'd prefer they keep the "(whatever) series" tag that popped up on 25th Anniversary items and maybe got a darker background color like the G1 toy packages had.

What's in a name? What matters is the concept of making new toys based on classic characters is more them likely to return in some fashion.

It kinda seems to me like the Hasbro guy didn't quite understand the question, or he just didn't want to give a straight answer.
I don't think he meant it as in that Universe is gone, so go sit and spin classic fans! I think what he was clumsily trying to say is there are no solid plans for the Universe/classics line right now. All focus is on the ROTF line at the moment.
The few Universe figs that are going to be coming out soon, like the Leo Prime, Skyfall, hardhead and such, may have been things that they had planed before hand and they're just getting around to releasing them now.

He did say that they want to continue the concept of Universe/classics at some point. So I'm just going to assume when that returns it'll be Universe. They may decide to call it something else, but for all purposes it'll be the Universe line.

I like the "Transformers Generations" idea though.
