Decent action, some characters deaths, some humor, and decent writting. Basically Beast Wars with cars instead of animals.

    Let's see...

    Quality, well-paced, and not-rushed writing.
Interesting, unique characters. If this means small casts, so be it.
Less idiotic children. Sari was a good change from the norm, but turning into a walking deus-ex-machina... No. Also, NO KENNYS!
Don't make Megatron incompetent like in G1. He needs to not be like most Saturday-morning-cartoon-dime-a-dozen villains.
Give the 'Cons a few wins here and there.

"Going overboard" is a subjective concept. Beast Machines Megatron is incontrovertibly the single most malignant and effective Megatron to date. So you would prefer to have a less competent antagonist?

    Good characters.

Plot doesn't matter as long as you've got a charming cast reacting to the events.

I love Beast Wars and Beast Machines, and consider them among my favorite animated stories of all time. Animated was good, I really liked that show as well.

I want TF: Prime to surpass them all.

Hopes a little high? Yeah. But that's what I want, and that's what the topic asked.

    Always a plus

Some epic fights, with epic pair ups.
    Good plot, ALWAYS a plus.
I kind of like the unsure leader types, it allows more character developement than the usual confident leader types.
The bad guys win ocassionally, it doesnt have to be a major victories, and it gives chances for good plot.
    Character developement.
Some gestalt action, stunticons like motormaster and gang who basically hate each other but actually have to work together.
    Decent toys.

I would like to see less of the "Decepticons are these huge robotic killers armed to the teeth with missles, lasers, rockets etc. and the Autobots are basically fighting back with power tools". I'd like to see less of "It takes 5 Autobots to bring down one Decepticon".

I like the idea of letting Megatron wine every now and again. That's how a war works. Each side wins a little. That's what keeps it going. If I was Megatron and getting my ass handed to me every week, eventually, I'd just quit...

While there are tons and tons of crap there are a few diamonds in the pile.

For example Mythbusters kicks ass because it found the perfect blend of science and entertainment. You watch the show and you feel entertained by a huge explosion but you also feel like you've learned something with just how amazingly strong duck tape is in large amounts.

I want PRIME To be what the movies SHOULD of been. NO Bay, no lousy humans as the protagonist, NO MILITARY WORSHIP, ahem, no wrecking balls (dear god), and hold off on the humanization.

Preach on, brother. BM Megs conquered Cybertron indeffinately. Enslaved all but FOUR members of the entire world populace, and had an army greater than any seen in Transformers before or since.

Agreed. Beast Machines may not be much of a favorite to me, but at least that Megatron was successful in doing what no other Megatron could do.

Anyway, what do I want from Transformers Prime...

-Good writing, about the same level as Beast Wars
-A good story that's well-thought out, not necessarily has to be Shakespearean, but close to it
    -Great character development
    -Good toys
    -Great action
    -Good-natured humor
    -References to past Transformers shows
-Great music (both the theme song and the background music)
    -At least 52 episodes
-Good voice-acting (For the love of God, Hasbro, get Kevin Conroy on board...please? :p )
-An Optimus Prime that's like Optimus Primal-Using unorthodox methods to solve problems
-A Bumblebee that acts like his G1 self (young, but responsible)
-A Megatron that is a perfect blend of his Beast Wars and Animated counterparts in personality; cruel, evil, but intelligent, and believes that he is fighting for a noble cause
-A Starscream that is like his G1 self, but with a few hints of Tarantulas here and there
    -Sideswipe AND Sunstreaker
-An epic fight near the tail end of the series

    I'd like:
    • A noisy and content-free show, the TV equivalent of a pixie stick.
    • A series that has no multi-parters and each episode ends scooby-doo style with a group laugh.
    • Very movie influenced, right down to masturbation jokes and the humans getting high.
    • Toys that look like the earlier character design drafts, rather then the finished products.
    • The toys to be designed around an easily broken spring loaded auto-transform gimmick, like the Jumpstarters, only far more complicated and super easy to break.

I could use a break after being so into Animated.
