Whenever I think of a Masterpiece Megatron Hasbro could possibly release in America (so it's not a gun), I always remind myself of this guy:

So what do you think would work as a Hasbro Masterpiece Megatron for the US Market? He can't turn into a gun, so he has to be something else, and he cannot be just a robot-mode only toy as that does not make him a "Transformer." Should he be heavily Generation One influenced or be influenced from a newer series?

I'm sure the design team has been wrestling with this one for some time. Eventually they'll have to tackle him once they get Soundwave and the Seekers all made; we can't have Autobots all the time. I'm sure after MP-10 is released here, we could see the new Starscream, maybe some recolors, and then Sideswipe.

I would love g2 megatron. I have my g2 Megs still and an MP of it would rock.

 

Always bothered me that Megatron, leader of the FLYING Decepticons had an ALT mode that didn't fly. I wouldn't mind a Megs who turned into a helicopter Gunship, a sleeker one like a Comanche or summat.

So that lone single guy who voted for Megs as a Helicopter, that was me...

 

A G2 Megatron would be awesome for me.

 

I'd like an MP G2 Megs just for the sake of having an MP G2 Megs.

As for G1 gun Megs, barring the law being repealed, just roll with Takara. I've been more excited by the thought a revamped, new MP Megs than the thought of a revamped, new MP Optimus which we did get with MP-10 because of all of the issues with MP-5.

 

We don't really need another Megatron. A MP Galvatron scaled with MP09, MP10 and Rodimus would suffice.

 

That design Hasbro used to flush out leaks or the IDW Tank Megatron would be interesting.

As might G2 Tank Megatron with really good articulation and no hollow limbs and slightly toned down purple blotches.

 

I'm not trying to be funny with you, but the only MP that MP-05 scales with is MP-01. There should be a new megs to scale with the current MP scale just like you want Galvatron to be scaled with them.

 

IDW bomber megs, in fact, I am cpying a custom of that for myself using spme KO based on a very successful custom. I think the full black plas a flying, fast and effective alt mode fit megatron better than gun.

Though a tank, but a very powerful looking one, would be cool as well.

 

IDW's Cybertronian/Stormbringer Megatron. To me, the best looking Megatron. Still very G1, but more powerful looking and a (cybertronian) tank.

 

Yeah I know that, but considering we have Rodimus Prime and a Coronation Starscream, Galvatron just seems like the most logical next step.

Besides, he doesn't need to turn into a Walther.

 

Honestly, I don't even WANT Megatron as a gun for an MP... I was more speaking in terms of scale.

And I hear you on Galvatron. I've always liked Galvatron a bit better as a character, especially when incorporated as a completely seperate character from Megatron, but it just feels "weird" having a Galvatron incorporated into a line before a proper Megatron, if that makes sense?

 

This is how you do a Cybertronian vehicle mode. It's not human in design, but still eminently recognisable as a tank. Not a robot doing a yoga pose or an incomprehensible jumble of parts.

I vote either this design or the stealth bomber, leaning slightly more towards the stealth bomber in light of the fact that a G1 inspired Megatron with a flight vehicle mode would be a nice breath of fresh air.

My votes go for IDW-style stealth bomber (one of the slickest reimaginings of G1 Megatron yet), the Eggplant Jungle Camo tank, and TFA-inspired twin-rotor assault chopper.

I'd actually say that the TFA-inspired one would be the most ideal for my collection. I loved the design, and it gives him an impressive stature in both modes. Plus, it's a bit unique (along with the stealth bomber).

 

Forget Hasbro. For this particular case, as much as I hate to say it Turd party is the way to go.

 

I take it we are ignoring the fact that the line is totally G1 centric?

Buy the inevitable Takara gun version that stands alongside MP10. Job done.
